  The Crystal Unicorns ~

Well well, there's a relatively clear path to follow, leading you along the forested edge of the field. Signs of life are everywhere, from the buzz and chirp of insects to the cheerful warbling of the occasional songbird. A lizard suns itself within reach of your hand, and as you opt to continue a harmless though brightly hued green-snake crosses the path you've claimed. Such a place this, clearly flourishing. Where to look though for the elusive beasts that populate the habitat? There's the inviting rushing and burbling sounds of water not too far off, and as convenient as that, the path splits so that one might deviate into the woods. So be it...

It's a comfortably cool amount of shade and short wlk later that the brook comes into sight, babbling contentedly as it leaps over rocks and plummets past the crooked roots of aged trees. Ferns grow in abundnce at the banks, though among them is the one you seek.

A mare of pale white and somewhat diminutive size rests rather close to the bank at one of the wider protions of the brook, where other rivulets trickle in so that via it's increased size one might term the flowing water a stream. Nothing that could be dubbed skittishness though is classified, black-masked muzzle giving you, the interloper, a rather intelligent once over before she returns to whatever she might have been doing before alerted to our presence. Head dips towards the water, the shifting of weight revealing lower legs as well to be encased in a lovely even black. Rather than plunge her muzzle into the cool water though, it's the horn that is dipped into the flow. And here... the opportunity to view a classic action taking place. Not that they were filthy before, but all the water that passed the magical horn was purified of any taint, continuing merrily along to flow throughout the exhibit.

A second mare will stride out of the lush foliage, bespying you instantly, as could only be expected. Mute is she though, simply drawing herself up to stand alongside her compatriot. Whilst spattered with white here and there, the dominating color of this one is a smooth yellow-gold. She stands at attention there, her position coupled by her nearness of the first indicating protectiveness. And why not? Certainly it was the duty of each unicorn to care for her sisters...

And as touching a few moments these have been, such regal beings all but demand respect... regardless of size. Thusly of your own will do you find yourself exiting, working your way back up to the field to follow the curve of the path and take your leave.
