  The Habitat ~

This particular habitat would appear to be minimal as far as fencing and the like goes. Like the simple split-rail fencing one might find meant to enclose horses, a basic gate serving as the entrance and a figure seated upon the top slat. Beyond lay a rather generous sprawl of land, much of it fairly clear of the more cluttery deciduous trees and rather intermittent with towering evergreens. Off in the distance would appear to be something of a hill, boulders strewn about the base and in places stacked. Now, nearing said gate reveals the figure to be a young adult, a boy of perhaps eighteen years of age. Longish brown hair hangs down about his shoulders, some afront his face and obscuring features though one hazel eye can still be seen as you near. He displays a grin, gesturing invitingly to the gate.

  The Information ~

At the entrance to the habitat is somewhat predictably a sign, one that serves as information display to any visitors. Engraved upon it is this;

General
Emeralian Hippogryphs are like regular hippogryphs, except they are smaller, and quite possibly more varied in coloration. Their fronts can be of any coloration from neutrals to naturals and fantasy/bright colors; their backs are usually of neutral and natural colors, but fantasy/bright colorations have also been known. Standing about the size of a wolf, Emeralian Hippogryphs are not usually rideable except by the smallest of passengers. Sometimes they are raced, but this is usually done without a rider or jockey as they are sentient species able to communicate and think for themselves.

Lifestyle
They congregate in groups called Ayre (pronounced like "are" or "are-e"; regional differences). A "head" male and female are present for each group, but beyond that any combination of males and females may be present. Sometimes they freely breed, and sometimes they choose a certain life-time mate; it is up to the hippogryph itself. Ayre usually take names after the area they are located in.

Wyvies
Recently, a creature has been discovered that seems to form strong bonds with the hippogryphs. They are called wyvies, and are hand-sized wyverns. Their wings, head decorations and tail decorations all vary quite widely, as do their colorations. They are not sentient, but have the intellegence level (generally) near that of a parrot.
They seem to be gender dymorphic, in that they become whatever sex their bonded hippogryph seems to favor for them. Until they are bonded, they seem to be neither sex or both. It is difficult to tell as no distinctions exist between gender in the wild. Bondeds also name their wyvies, it can be almost anything, as wyvies do not understand most speech.

Origin
An Emeralian Hippogryphs may be able to be procured from here. Do feel free to visit and inquire about recieving your own.

  The Residents ~

At the bottom of the sign is a small note, reading thusly;
