Huge jets of sparkling, rainbow-tinted water shoot up from a number of springs and geysers below you, arrayed down the terraced, grassy slope. Through the shining mists, you can spot tiny dens and burrows dug into the hillside, and filled with curiosity, you begin traveling way downhill. When a spray of golden water arcing across the gravel path dashes your face, you are quite surprised to feel that it is pleasantly cool and scented, amazingly, of lemonade. Licking your lips, you find that it tastes delectably lemony as well! Indeed, as you make your way down, you encounter grape soda, root beer, cherry cola, apple cider, and every manner of deliciously-flavored spring. Youre so busy tasting the soda water, in fact, that you almost miss the huge-eyed puffball riding a spout directly before your face! As surprised as you, the little creature squeaks in dismay and tumbles out of the soda fountain, bouncing onto your shoulder. You stare at each other for a moment, before the puffball squeaks again and jumps into a nearby pool, bobbing away down a soda-waterfall.

Whoops, looks like you've scared Jiggy the Gabu!

Now paying more attention to your surroundings, you note a delicate, winged sprite of some sort hovering over a cerulean geyser and diving in every now and then to steal a sip, like a hummingbird.

This is Feena, a lutey. Luteys are crosses between sparrows, fire lizards, and Elves. Don't mistake her for a harpy, mind you!

A family of catlike creatures are sunning themselves on a choice ledge out of the way of water, and what appear to be two tiny sphinxes recline below. You see them purring softly to each other in turns, and imagine them to be riddling the hours away.

This is Artemis the forest cat, a smaller cousin of the Feloren. Polaris is Artemis' mate, a sweet, gentle mother.
Moonshine, a Feloren. Iceblink, mate of Moonshine.

When you come upon two brightly colored blobs, you think at first that the soda water somehow congealed into Jell-O, but then quickly realize your mistake when they reveal beady black eyes. Theyre jellies, and rather offended at your misconception, too!

Blueness the jelly blinks up at you. A quivering purple jelly named, appropriately, Grape.

A dragonlet dozes by the edge of a spring, and you hope that he wont put his fire out falling into the water! A winged, icy-blue creature dabbles her paws into the same spring, watching you calmly as you pass by.

Sweet little Embyr has quite a fearsome snore! Quite unalarmed, Icicle the Dibsig stares at you and continues paddling her paws.

Two young hyppogryphs gaze at each other across the surface of a geyser, barely blinking when it shoots up in front of their beaks. You wonder if theyre having some sort of silent conversation.

Skylark, a beautiful chestnut hyppogryph. Flute the blue hyppogryph is dappled very prettily, don't you think?

At the end of a slope, three infant equines gambol in the fresh grass, two unicorns and one pegasus. When you take a second look, you also note a fourth equine, a diminutive blue pony who seems to be utilizing a small trickle of cerise soda-water for paint!

Belle is named, oddly enough, for the Greek hero Bellerophon who first tamed the great Pegasus. But her name also means beauty! Malth, a unicorn filly. Angyl is Malth's twin brother.
Raphael loves to paint, although he's not very confident yet. But he's getting better! Soda water makes for a very interesting medium. I daresay he's the first to use it.
