This past month has seen our country, as well as many others shaken up. We were struck by terrorists and are now wondering when our President will take us to war, as he says he will. I personally don't know if that is the answer, but will go along with the President's decision on the matter. I mean, the terrorist was wrong in what he did and he needs to be punished for it. I just don't see what killing a bunch of innocent people is going to accomplish. Yes, I realize that bin Laden killed a bunch of innocents here in the US with the planes he had his people fly into World Trade Center, Pentagon and the other plane crash in Pennsylvania, but I really hate to see more people die. If we bring this war home to our shores, many American citizens will die for no reason. If we leave it overseas, many Afghanistan people will die for no reason. Casualties of war is not what I want for us now. But I am powerless, except to let my Congressman and the President know how I feel. It is just a saddening experience. I have had a heavy heart ever since September 11. I have created a memorial tribute and welcome you to see it.

October is upon us and that brings with it all the colors of the season, the reds, golds, yellows, oranges of the trees, the leaves. I love the smell of autumn, the changing seasons, the slight chill of the evening air. I love curling up in a blanket on the couch and reading or watching TV. Christmas is just around the corner and I love the whole season that is coming. I find myself humming Christmas songs and thinking about what I want to do for my loved ones. I love having the stores put up their displays and I don't think its ever too early for it. Of course, between now and Christmas or Yule, depending on what you celebrate, there is Halloween, or Samhain, and Thanksgiving. Hopefully in the next few issues, I will be including things you can do to get ready for the various holidays. This is definately my favorite time of the year. Lets celebrate together! And, of course, invite all your friends to celebrate, too. Let them know how much you like this e-zine and invite them to subscribe. After all, its free and when was the last time you got a free magazine?

How do you like the new look? I moved us to a new server and changed how I do things. Is it satisfactory with you? Or did you like the old look and feel? Let me know, ok? My ears are always open.

This month lots of people all over the US are celebrating Halloween. There are many myths associated with Halloween, such as it's the devil's holiday, etc, but the myths can be dispelled by reading my page about Halloween. It actually was an ancient custom celebrated by many Celtic people.

I have also included a page full of interesting recipes for using the bounty of the season.

This month I will be starting a series about the Goddesses and hope to include each month an article about some of the well-known Goddesses in Greek Mythology and how we can use some of the lessons from each one to enhance our lives. The first Goddess I am focussing on is Aphrodite.

I am looking for original submissions from those who would like to be published online. I am looking for poetry. short stories, ideas for living, recipes, anything having to do with the holidays that are coming up, from Halloween to New Years, and beyond.
