Elpheba dreams of meeting the Wizard of Oz and forming a famous team with him.  She believes in combining their powers to solve all the evil in the land of Oz.  Similarly, combining two linear equations will solve the equation and give you values for X and Y.

 Step 2: Multiply equations  by constants (if needed) so that the coefficients one of the variables are opposite.

 Step 3: Add the two equations together to eliminate one of the variables.

 Step 4: Solve for X and Y.

-x + 2y = 6

4x - 2y = 12

x = 6

y = 6
