Steps for using Substitution
| Step1 | Decide which equaiton you
are going to sub in for which. x-2y=3 x-y=7 |
| Step 2 | Get one variable one one
side and then plug what its = to into other equation. x=2y+3 2y+3-y=7 |
| Step 3 | Then solve for y. 2y-y=7-3 y=4 |
| Step 4 | Then just plug the 4 back
into a original problem. x-(2)4=3 x=11 |
| Step5 | Now just plug both answers
into both equations. 11-(2)4=3 11-4=7 |
| Step 6 | If both both answers check
out then their ya go. If not then repeat steps 1-5 or try
