Steps to using with Elimination Method
| Step 1 | First you line equations up
like so. 2x-2y=9 x+2y=6 |
| Step 2 | Then you can eliminate the
y's since -2y+2y=0 so your left with. 2x+x=9+6 |
| Step 3 | Now you just solve for x. 3x=15 x=5 |
| Step 4 | Just go back and plug x
into a equation to get y. 5+2y=6 2y=1 y=1/2 |
| Step 5 | Then plug both numbers into
both equations to check your answers. 2(5)-2(1/2)=9 5+2(1/2)=6 |
| Step 6 | If both answers check out
