FROM MY BRAIN TO YOURS: ALGEBRA II

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION MIGHT BE OF USE TO YOU!!!
7x + 2y = -1                        3x - 4y = 19
2y = -7x - 1                         4y = -3x - 19
y = -3.5x - 0.5                     y = -0.75x - 4.75
WHEN SOLVING GRAPHICALLY:
1. Put them into regular y = mx + b form
     - Move over the y.
     - Divide appropriate numbers
2. Graph the first one.
3. Graph the second one.
4. Use the intersecting tool, and find out the coordinates of the   intersection.
OR
          You could use a table to substitute for the x and the y, and see which ones work.

2x + y = -6                y = -2x - 6                    (2)(-4)+ y =-6
3x + y = -10            3x + (-2x - 6) = -10            -8 + y =-6
                                             x - 6 = -10            +8         +8
                                              + 6      +6                    y = 2
                                                  x = -4
WHEN SOLVING WITH SUBSTITUTION:
1. Put the top line into the y = mx + b form.
2. Once you find what y equals, substitute in the bottom line for y.
3. Work it down and find x.
4. Then substitute x in either line ( it dosen't matter which ) and find y. Together, they are the answer.

The perimeter of a rectangular field is 628m. The length of the field exceeds its width by 6m. Find the dimensions.

2l +2w = 628m                        628             L = 320/2 = 160
                  2                          -320     p;       W = 308/2 = 154
               314 + 6 = 320          308

The length equals 160m.
The width equals 154m.

WHEN SOLVING WITH LINEAR EQUATIONS:
1. Use the formula to start. ( 2l + 2w = 628 )
2. Divide 628 by 2, and add 6 to find your TOTAL LENTH.(Divide the 320 by 2 to get 1 dimension. )
3. Subtract the 320 from 628 ( 308 ) to find the TOTAL WIDTH. ( Divide the 308/2 to get the other dimension.)
4. L = 160m
   W = 154m
