AFAIK, "mince" is a process where you chop something very, very small. I've never heard of a specific "thing" that was called a "mince". Since he appears healthy now, and if the blood test results are good, it may be a good idea to stop the interferon until he needs it again. I've been told since it's human it becomes worthless and toxic to cats over time. Can Steve's vet get ImmunoRegulin? An ImmunoRegulin IV once a month could strengthen Titch's immune system. It would mean a vet house call once a month, but you said cost isn't a consideration:) Also, adding some supplements like Pet-Tinic or others that are made for pets may help Titch stay healthy and, if you can get it I think DMG is very important. You're really right about love and attention being very important, it's some of the best medicine. Especially since stress to a FeLV+ cat can be devastating. Hope to keep hearing encouraging news about chubby Titch! Beth ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Mon, 31 Aug 1998 19:15:10 -0500 (CDT) From: "Nancy A. You really have had a lot dropped on you lately. Have you thought about Immunoregulin for Poncho? Even given SQ at home might help and then you wouldn't have to be concerned about car problems (at least in that vein) or stressing Poncho. Are you able to use Ambrotose. I know both Immunoregulin and Ambrotose are expensive so that may be a consideration. If it does turn out that Poncho is anemic, she might do well on a small tapering dose of Prednisone. I know this is a controversial topic but you might at least consider it. Jake has done very well for a year now with a tapering dose coupled with Interferon and Immunoregulin. I'm glad Jodi is better; now we need to work on you! Angela, did they put you on antibiotics? How are you feeling? Is there anything we can do for you? All three of you are sincerely in my thoughts--healing vibes are being flown your way. Nancy ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Mon, 31 Aug 1998 19:27:32 -0500 (CDT) From: "Nancy A. Unless he tests negative, I would keep him on the Interferon. Is there any possibility that the vet could mix it up and only sell Steve what he needs until the expiration date? My best to you; we've missed you! nancy ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Mon, 31 Aug 1998 19:30:38 -0500 (CDT) From: "Nancy A. My vet makes the Interferon Alpha solution with deionized water. I do not think this difference matters, but I was wondering what the protocol is? Speaking of Interferon, last year I tried to contact Lee Biomolecular to get more information regarding Interferon. Since there web site was down (and apparently still is), I called them on the phone. The person I spoke to claimed to be the CEO and among other things was very rude (just a forewarning). What this person did tell me was that there was a feline version of Interferon available and produced in China. Does anybody know of this feline Interferon and how to get it? Boy, is she fast...... Harley and Jack are still fighting. Jack has a small bite behind his ear. Harley has a scratch. I think Harley is trying to be friends and Jack just doesn't understand. Without hearing, he thinks someone coming upon him is aggression. I try to break it up but also have just about decided they will have to setlle it themselves. I believe feline interferon is being developed, but isn't avaliable yet. I'm sure James Wilson will inform us when it becomes avaliable. BTW those Lee BioMolecular people were really rude to him too. I can not recall how much of the thymus and co enzyme-Q10... I should administer to them each on a daily basis. We are hoping that this will help get a negative reading the next time we test. Please advise, Thanks, Donna C ---------------------------------------- END
