I just got caught up in the fighting, or so it seemed to be that way to me. I don't really want you to leave the list. I shouldn't have said that and I hope you will forgive me, it was kind of a stupid thing for me to say and I really didn't mean it. Sometimes, my mouth opens before my mind does. Sorry, Steve......................Lynn(Stinker) ---------------------------------------- From: "Steve Lackow" To: Subject: Re: maitri Date sent: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 19:39:56 -0700 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Lynn, you and I joined this list around the same time, and we were all so concerned for you and what you were going through. I remember your nightmare with Stinker, escaping to the motel, the whole thing like it was yesterday. I am so very glad that you both are still here, you and Stinker. We will win if we are together, we are truly strong this way. So many perspectives. Energy. And love. -- Steve ---------------------------------------- From: CatzNStuff@aol.com Date sent: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 22:45:11 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Baypamun Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, I have been told by Customs officials that it is perfectly legal to bring medications into the US for personal use. If you lived in Greece and were on meds that weren't approved by the FDA, do you think Customs would stop that person from bringing meds into the country and take a chance on killing them? Not even. I posted my message on a German cat-rescue site, used the Alta- Vista translation software while I was searching. So far, all three volunteers were only going to NYC or other east coast destinations. I did this over a year ago, and just got another reply to the post about a month ago. At this point in time I am not sure that I would try it, anyway. We have all seen it. No matter what happens, I hope you continue to pick up those strays. Almost all of mine would be dead had I not picked them up. The vaccines have kept them safe, so far anyway. They are happy, loved and wouldn't change a thing. Each is so special, returning the love in their own special way. For those poor discarded little ones, six months of peace and warmth is a lifetime for them. The pain right now is prob a little to much for your husband, but I'll bet he will still pick up the next little one he sees. He sounds as loving and kind as you. I am thinking of you and maybe stopping all the meds is the best thing for Tut. Be together as much as you can and put it in the hands of higher power. barb ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Fri, 14 Aug 1998 23:07:51 -0400 To: felvtalk@MailingList.net From: Angela Holderby Subject: AND On a Postive Note... Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I received something in the mail today that really made me happy. When Lefty had his transfusion, I took him to a vet about an hour or so away from my home. They were great, but they were too far away to run to every week so I found a closer vet who was willing to work with me. But, this first clinic was responsible for actually buying Lefty the extra 6 weeks he had. They were great. Now, I only talk to them when I need the Interferon--can't get it locally. The vet tech there has 4 felv+ cats at her home and was a GOD SEND to me during Lefty's struggle. She was always willing to talk to me about anything that concerned me. I hadn't spoken to them since Lefty died, but today I received a card from the vet clinic and another separate card from the Vet Tech. I am assuming my current vet must have told them (they are involved in some sort of project together.) I thought it was so nice of them to write to me. So often, I hear that it is 'just a cat' or that it doesn't matter for some stupid reason...but this made me feel so good about the decisions I made for Lefty...I just wanted to share what the card said.... Angela "I was truly sorry to hear about Lefty. I know it had to be an extremely hard decision. you gave him love and a little more time added to his life. That's more than a lot of people would have done. If only a few more people would give animals the love and attention they need and deserve, the world would be a lot better off. So I'm thanking you for being a caring person and giving Lefty a chance and a little more time. Again, I'm deeply sorry to hear about Lefty. Sincerely, Terri P.S. If you need anything..please feel free to call." Wasn't that beautiful???? These people know I go to a vet closer to home (they encouraged me to do that and even called the new vet to educate her about Poncho & Lefty's treatments). They didn't do this to get my business...they did it because they care. That is such a rare thing these days. I was just so happy and wanted to share it with the people who understand these things... Y'all, go hug your cats and try to forget all the pressures this miserable disease puts on us...at least for just a little while. Love to all, Angela. ---------------------------------------- END
