It feels like a ball about the size of a pencil eraser just under the skin. It will move with the skin so I know it isn't attached to the muscle. It seems that it is a little farther toward her tail than the site where her rabies injection was given. She doesn't act like it bothers her if I handle it. It is just strange. Jodi's rabies and felv immunization this week so I am going to take both cats in and see what they say. Just wondered if anybody had experienced this before. I mean it has been almost a month since I had major cat problems...I am about due some more. I almost have Lefty paid off. Paying for his treatment wasn't too bad, but paying to have him put to sleep really makes me sick. Pets often got small cysts or worse, abcesses from Rabie shots. They have improved over those FEW years and it's not as big a problem now, but I would think it prob still happens from time to time. Abcesses you will see fairly quickly, the cysts take time to appear. hope this helps, but best to have the vet check in next time in. barb ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 13:11:58 -0400 (EDT) From: Kat To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Poncho Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi Angela, One of my cats used to get little fatty skin tumors - and don't panic - they aren't cancerous. At first I thought it was a tick, but the vet checked her out and said there ws nothing to worry about. If I wanted he could remove it, but he couldn't say whether it would grow back or not. I opted to leave it be, and she had no problems with it. I would definately have the vet check her, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. My 14 yr. old cat has had a cyst on his shoulder for years & my vet says to just leave it unless it bothers him. The bump sounds exactly the same as Poncho's, just a different location. They did a quick biopsy, the puss inside wasn't infected, they drained it and it went away - no problems. I think your best bet is to take him to the vet - it's probalby all that it is, maybe some kind of small abcess like hers was. It didn't hurt her, moved, and was attached to the skin. Please post to the list once you know. I apologize to those that didn't get to send in a letter, but it appears that our efforts had little (if any) effect on their decision anyway. ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- Date: Tue, 4 Aug 98 11:38:31 EDT From: MAILSRV@nycdoitt.ci.nyc.ny.us To: PHAEDRUS@NPWT.NET Subject: Abandoned Pets at the Conde Nast Building Dear Friend: or Giuliani in response to your E-mail expressing concern for the pets left behind in the apartments evacuated as a result of the scaffold collapse in Times Square. Please know that the Mayor understands and appreciates your concern for the safety of the pets. However, due to a multitude of concerns and the potential loss of human life, it was not immediately feasible to permit rescue workers to enter any of the buildings surrounding 4 Times Square. As you may know, on July 27, City officials allowed emergency personnel to enter the evacuated buildings and retrieve the pets. The animals were treated by veterinarians from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and returned to their owners. I got the interferon alpha and started him on that. I bought the vit. c, Q10 and thymus hormone. I'm going to figure out his dosage and try it. I have nothing to loose at this point. I'll try any thing as long as it doesn't hurt Tut. Tut is still very anemic. However, he is still eating fairly well, and he is more active but still sluggish and not himself. I asked about a blood transfussion but the vet thought it would be a temporary fix and as soon as those red blood cells die he would be anemic again. We'll see what happens. Thanks for all of your advice and support, it really helps. TIME. Time for the meds to work, time for the iron and vitamin suppliments to kick in and do their thing. While repeated transfusions are usually pointless, that one, can sometimes make a big diffference. I have some articles on blood transfusions,if you would like them. barb ---------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 19:54:23 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: vit. c Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Nan, From what I understand, Ambrotose is an immune system booster and stimules RBC production and the production of feline interferon. Interesting, I was just looking for my stuff from Mannatech. I have a friend interesting the arthritis med for her dog. Linda, got a www site? I checked the one I had and it's not up anymore. barb ---------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 20:09:14 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: ambrotose Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I found a www site that has some stuff on it. also, we have an abstract on our angelfire site. http://www.mannatech-inc.com/cellcomm.cfm barb ---------------------------------------- From: "George & Nancy" To: Subject: Thymus hormone Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 19:54:02 -0400 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net OK, I know I read it here some place but can't find it. It's bovine in origin. I guess it all is. I give my Ariel one fourth a tablet, once a day. There has been a noticeable change in her. She is much more active. Quite a stinker actually. barb ---------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 20:23:37 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: CoQ10 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Chere, For some reason, I didn't clear off your question on Q10. I could swear I answered it, but in case I didn't. I have Ariel 10mg, twice a day. But she is a small cat, 8-9 lbs. So if you have a larger cat, 15mg twice a day would be ok. I doubt you could overdose with this stuff. It is very hard to overdose with most homeopathic meds, unless you just go nuts with it. barb ---------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 20:25:00 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Jake update Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Nancy, Great news about Jake.
