No prescription necessary. It comes in capsules and Just pull it apart and mix it in the food. It's my understanding it needs to be given with wet food, it binds with the fat content. I have Ariel on it as well as the ImmunoRegulin and Thymus and I must admit she is much friskier. Granted, she was not ill but had sort of turned into a lump. Now she is into everything, running, throwing toys in the air, biting my toes.....! So nothing ventured, nothing gained. barb ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Sat, 01 Aug 1998 13:08:37 -0400 To: felvtalk@MailingList.net From: three ring circuits Subject: Re: CoQ10 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net barb- Does it just come in one dosage or mg? I'm still confused about what are SAFE levels of anything supplemental to give a cat - such as the Vitamin C. Also..... did anyone know about the type of Vitamin C I posted yesterday? It had bioflavins with it which of course, I have no idea what these are?! and doesn't say whether or not it's calcium or sodium ascorbate. thanks. I guess that I never saw where you could link the FeLV info sheet, etc. from the treatments page. I'll go back and see if I can do it now. Thanks again Beth. I have my Ariel, who I call a "wee cat". So I give her 10mg, twice daily. Rule of thumb is to see what the recommended dose is for humans, and then figure it down to cat weight. barb ---------------------------------------- From: "zimmerman" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Re: Co Q10 Date sent: Sat, 1 Aug 1998 15:41:54 -0400 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi Debby, There's info on bioflavins at www.kvvet.com/bioflavs.htm . I get my supplements from their catalog & they're made for pets, so I don't know safe levels when you get them from health stores. I know it's hard to know what's safe when there's different opinions. The antioxidant from Vetri-Science I'm using is a bioflavonoid from grape seed & it says it's safe. Maybe Dr. Myers can give us his opinion of supplemental safe levels? The Vetri-Science Co Q10 I use says 10mg per 15 lbs body weight. The dose can be higher if their gums aren't healthy. Also, the ImmunoRegulin, thymus, & Co Q10 program that some on the list are trying is 15 mg Co Q10 2 times daily. I just bookmarked this page and printed it out. Umm.... who is this Dr. Myers that you're referring to if you don't mind me asking? Th Vitamin C I bought is 500 mg. per capsule so... I can open up the capsule and sprinkle a little on Hershey's food.. but HOW MUCH I wonder??????? He's in pretty good shape, good appt, etc., other than for his tender, inflammed gums. Some days seem worse than others. I have just recently (2 days) started Pushy on Interferon and Co Q 10 enzyme . I've heard that Co Q10 is very good for the tender, inflammed gums. It's worth a try. Let me know, please, if you hear of anything else that might work. . .also let me know what you do with "Stinker" and his gums. Sorry, but I don't know anything about the sprays for kitties. Good Luck to you and Stinker, Bye for now, Colleen ---------------------------------------- From: chere@nwnexus.com (Cheryl A. C. I guess the Barley Cat has a little because of the ascorbic acid. I'm just going to use Barley Cat & 1cc Pet-Tinic daily for vitamins unless I find out more. It's too hard to know how much is safe & adding some can hinder absorption of others, so it has to be balanced too. I'm using Vetri-Science DMG, Co Q10, & grape seed Antiox, plus Prozyme on their food so I think that's enough. Steve made a fizzy concoction with Vit. C, aloe vera juice & other ingredients. Maybe you'd want to try that if you can find the recipe. I use pure aloe vera juice from whole leaves, which you can buy in a health food store, mixed with a buffered Vitamin C ascorbate with bioflavonoids and added vitamins and minerals. About 4 oz of juice to 1 tbp of C, mixed in an old Grolsch beer bottle with the apothecary top -- Chloe has her medicine, and I have mine :-) For more info, visit the FeLV Support Site at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/6167/ -- Steve Steve, How much of the Aloe vera juice and the Vitamin C do you give to your cats?
