I'm trying to catch up on all my e-mails. So far I'm so happy there aren't any bad news and I thought it'd be nice to share with you what happened to me last friday. My mother was visiting the US last week, she came back last friday with so many surprises for me I coudn't help it I burst into tears. Barbara Moermond and I have been writing to each other privately since I realized she was going through a similar experience I once had. When I told her my mother was visting the US she insisted on sending me some spare toys Ninja had. To sum it up she sent me an envelope loaded with presents for Benito even catnip. Benito is so happy he hasn't stopped playing and I can't believe I'm holding in my hands things from Barb and Ninja. This I consider Lucky's little miracle, he helped me found you guys and thanks to him now I have such wonderful friends. I also met a lady from Vermont through Internet when Lucky got sick, she also wanted to send me something and now I got beautiful pictures of her and her family and a wonderful book called "The Blessing of the Animals", her little son even drew me a cat. Felv is a horror but the one and only good side of this for me is that I've made so many good, honest and supportive friends I can't believe it!! Barbara you're a dulce and I wanted to share this with all our friends, I'm still amazed and can't belive I actually have your toys scattered around my apartment, all the way from the US to Chile. You've brought us so much happiness I'm crying....... Thank you James for creating this list, this is mostly your accomplishment. These things lighten up our lives!! Love you all Paula + Benito + Garrita ---------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Mon, 27 Jul 1998 17:58:38 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Ringo Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Wow! 60 degrees! Oh, sweetie! I'm very glad everything got through fine. Now I'm crying because you're so happy:-) It really wasn't any trouble. I buy toys for Ninja because I think they're great cat toys and she just gives me this blank look when I give them to her and they just end up sitting around, not being played with. I just have to remember that this is the cat that digs dry, burnt toast out of the garbage and eats it. Go figure. I agree with you, however, that many thanks go to Jim for creating such a necessary gathering of feline friends. This group of people is the best! I've finally found people who care about their kitties the way I care about mine. It feels like home here. If anybody cares to see Ninja, I do have a couple of pictures scanned, but they're .BMP so they might be a little big. Just let me know:-) Barb+Ninja ---------------------------------------- Date sent: Mon, 27 Jul 1998 12:11:26 -0700 (PDT) From: diana@wetware.com (CatWoman ) To: cats@shank.alphasoft.net, felvtalk@MailingList.net, muffin@esosoft.com Subject: WE DID IT! There are a lot of things that will make stool black, like iron suppliments. There are kits you can get where you can check right in your home. Maybe your vet can call his MD and get one or two for you. I mean poop is poop and blood is blood whether cat or human. barb ---------------------------------------- From: GinaTex@aol.com Date sent: Mon, 27 Jul 1998 19:54:22 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Marlyn Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi I hope you are okay. This was the best thing I found after feing on and off line for 8 years now. I never joined any mailing lists that was as wonderful as this one. My cats and dogs are my entire world and it is so great to have a place to go to that feel the same way about their babies as I do. I bet Benito is so happy to get all those toys!! Take Care !!! Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hey all, Well, if this were mid-winter, I'd just chalk up the recent aggressions to "cabin fever." I don't know what's making the tempers flair, but it's time for everyone to take a deep breathe and relax. In an effort to help folks relax, I'm going to, again, lay out some guidelines that need to be respected in order for this list to continue on its mission. These guidelines include the following things to remember: 1.) Do NOT flame others on or off the list- everyone has an opinion 2.) Stay on topic- this is crucial for the list's survival and effectiveness- we discuss FeLV (and other infectious diseases), their treatments, and support issues. An occasional human well wish is fine, too, but let's stick to the topic of feline health. 3.) Be careful with your replies a.) make sure they have the right "reply address" *before* you send them, b.) only quote important parts of the messages you're replying to- *not the whole message*, and c.) be sure they are relevant to the current topic- otherwise, change the subject header. Folks, if we could follow these simple rules, I think things will run alot smoother on the list. Please contact me privately if you have any questions or comments about any of these points. Take care, and best wishes to all. In loving memory of Vyvyan: March 20, 1988 - August 15, 1997 James G.
