Yes, Ringo is adorable. Just keep an eye on Ringo--he may have just inhaled something to make him sneeze. If he keeps sneezing, it's not a bad idea to call your vet or take Ringo in. We just got back from the homeopathic vet. Good thing I'd been reading. I had lots of questions, and she had a few answers . Turns out that she did her internship under Dr. Pitcairn, so she is quite an advocate of his. Told me to basically do what the book said, and she'd never heard of ambrotose nor DMG (I'm faxing info to her on them). But she did have an issue with my using interferon in conjunction with an interferon approach and suggested that I contact Dr. Pitcairn by email to see what he advised. Anyone know his email address? Next Tuesday I am talking with her again and she is going to run Tails' case through her homeopathic software and see what remedies it comes up with him. He is down .2 pound from Monday, but I am keeping the faith. Always. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Pam, Is there a url for Dr. Myers and/or the use of DMG with animals? I'd really like to share this with my vet. You've been very helpful, thank you. Please post his photo ASAP Folks, please do not post photos (or any other binary file) to this list. Some folks are paying for their internet service by the minute, so it isn't fair to them to have to download pictures and such with the rest of their mail. For those that want folks to see their photos, I'll suggest two possibilities (though, I'm sure there are many more). First, have folks contact you privately to ask that you send them photos privately. Next, make arrangements with me (or any other volunteers on the list) to post your photos at a website where folks can choose to visit it. If enough folks want, perhaps I can create a special "photo gallery" type website to accommodate this type of situation. Again, please do NOT post pictures here- it also clogs up the host running this list, and if it happens too often, we could lose our host. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. James G. From: naohalloran@juno.com (Naomi J O'Halloran) Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hello everyone! Once again, I haven't been able to check my email in ages. But I wanted to let you all know that I should be around much more now, because I have a wonderful excuse for staying home! I just adopted a new kitty! His name is Oyster and he's almost 12 weeks old. He was found on a boat when he was a week and a half old and has been kept and bottle-fed by a lady in a rescue group. He is felv+, but I'm going to have him retested in a month or two, because he was too young when they tested him. The poor thing has been living his whole life in a cage because she runs the rescue out of her house, and has about 50 cats running around. He could only come out if he was being held, and never got to run around at all. So, as you can imagine, it felt so good to let him out of the carrier into my room the other night and watch him dart back and forth like crazy for about an hour. Kiegan hasn't met him yet at all. He has a little cold, and I don't want him to get Kiegan sick or anything. My dog met him, though, and they got along wonderfully, so that's one introduction taken care of. He's a little grey tabby, weighs 3 pounds, and he's so adorable. He's such a little love. Purrs like crazy the minute you walk in the room. People have already asked my why I want to bring more heartache on myself, but I know he's going to bring lots of joy into our lives--just seeing him so happy to be able to run around is worth it. It feels so good to know that I'm helping this little guy. I found out about him at a cat show, and I was the only person in the whole place that asked about him all day. When they told me that, I knew he was going home with me. Well, sorry I'm babbling on like this. I couldn't wait to tell you guys. Thanks! I think Hershey would LIKE that idea that he has a squad of cheerleaders cheering for him as he's a pretty funny cat! I also like that idea of your's and will hold onto it - that he's fighting this off and WINNING!!!!!! I'll post when I learn anything new to be sure and thanks again for all your support - it means a lot. I haven't gone through all the mail, but if you haven't heard suggestions yet, you will. There is alot of info on diet out there and you certainly seem to be doing great in that area. My Jake loves liver. I give him both beef (especially beef) and chicken liver. Just remember not to overdo it. There is some conflicting info--I try not to give more than an ounce a week. I also give Jake beef heart and chicken heart which he also loves. To stimulate his appetite I give him cyprohepatadine. It is a antihistamine which has the side effect of appetite stimulation. All I need give is 1/4 tablet (to his 9-10 pounds) every 12 hours. I do this about 1-2 times week--it seems to last 12-48 hours. It works for me when everything else has failed. I give Jake Pet Tinnic, Vit. c (500 mg), ambrotose and DMG daily. Again, good luck; it sounds like you're doing a wonderful job! I can only imagine the devastation you are feeling. We have all been there and with FIP it's so much Worse. Keep in mind though that he may fight it off and if he does develop it, some cats live a year or longer with the dry form. I am wondering if your vet thinks interferon or immunoregulin could help him fight it off. Don't reply if you don't feel like; this is alot of bad news to have to process. You are in my thoughts. It expands a little on what Dr. Myers contributed to the FeLV Project Information Sheet. I'm using an anti-oxidant with Vits. A, E, & C, but the grape seed extract www.kvvet.com/bioflavs.htm sounds better, so I'm going to order some Vetri-Science Antiox because it has it. Seems like this would benefit FIP cats too. My vet hadn't heard about using Coenzyme Q10, but said it would be OK to add it to what I'm already using. There's more info. on it at www.kvvet.com/coenzq10.htm . Angela, if you're on it I guess we can consider it done. Diana, I know what you mean about the vacs. It would save money & a vet visit, but me & a needle - AHHH.
