I know you did the best possible for her. It sounds like she went peacefully, and that obviously the two of you had aclose bond. I've heard of poeple knowing in dreams of the death of a loved one, but have never heard of a case in which an animal did so. Please read the post on the Rainbow Bridge story if you haven't already heard of it. Kettainya is no longer in pain, she is strong and healthy. Just picture her chasing the butterflies. I know what you mean about how hard it gets to see them like that. The first cat my family ever had was skin and bones as well by the time she left us. You have done a wonderful job with him. He lived a long, happy life with you. Please know that we will support you in every way we can. He is in peace now, and will run and play like when he was a kitten. The gentle way in which Kettainya continued her journey in no way diminishes the grief that you are feeling. What a strong bond you have, hopefully in the next dream she will be chasing butterflies.... peace & light, ..marilyn.. -------------------------------------- Date sent: Tue, 26 May 1998 05:47:52 -0400 To: felvtalk@MailingList.net From: Angela Holderby Subject: Re: Kettainya Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net So very sorry for your loss. I think it is so sweet that your parents took such good care of her. My father was never a 'cat person' until I had one that touched his heart. It was years after this cat died before my Dad allowed another cat into his life. He is now officially a 'cat' person just like me. They have a way of doing that. It makes me smile to think that Kettainya was loved that much. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Angela. Here is what she wrote: I received a telephone call from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician who was conducting a test on our telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test we should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#) and then hang up. Luckily, we were suspicious and refused. Upon contacting the telephone company we were informed that by pushing 90# you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which allows them to place long distance telephone calls billed to your home phone number. We were further informed that this scam has been originating from many of the local jails/prisons. I have also verified this information with UCB Telecomm. Please beware. I further called GTE Security this morning and verified that this is definitely possible. DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE. The GTE Security department requested that I share this information with EVERYONE I KNOW!!! Could you PLEASE pass this on. If you have mailing lists and/or newsletters from organizations you are connected with, I encourage you to pass on this information. Deanna Harris Publications Editor The University of Tulsa 600 S. I am hoping that it will help Stinker's pain. If I don't get any good results with the Elavil, I will surely try the other. Most of Stinker's supplements and food are all natural and would be interested in the Bach. Will have to go to the archives and find it. Thanks for your advice. Poor Ninja had a seizure Saturday night even though she's been on pred daily since last weekend. She also peed in the living room - again - right in front of me. Then on Sunday morning, she almost had a seizure after she got her meds; she barfed up her pills, so I didn't push it and just gave her some that night. I have a call in to our vet and am waiting to hear from her. Her eyes have been runny (just tears) the last 2 days as well and her nictating membranes are partially extended and she seems to be sneezing more than usual (usually she sneezes when she eats). Ninja hates getting her medicine, so I usually brush her afterwards because brushing is our lovey-time. She just about brushes herself - all I have to do is hold the brush and she takes care of the rest! Of course, she was sleeping in her chair (nothing is mine) in the sunshine this morning, so both the pred and the interferon went down no problem, she just wanted her sunshine. And when the sun moves off of her chair, she tells me to put it back, because she's not done with it yet. Ninja is quite a character. I've been worrying since Saturday that she won't last out the summer. But I have kitty-proofed my balcony so she can come out there without giving me a heart attack. A couple of weeks ago, she went running out there as I was bringing laundry in and stuck her little head over the lowest railing (!) like it was no big deal. So I got some hex netting and screened the bottom half of the railings. We can sun in peace now. You need a negative and a print, but that's an option for those who want to put their bridge kitties' photos on the tribute page but don't have access to a scanner. I'm not sure about the cost. Now this also assumes you know how to save it on your hard drive from the diskette and then send it as an attachment, but that's the easy part. I liked learning how to do this and it was worth it to get Ernie's picture and a small tribute to him on this website--which holds tributes to and photos of many of our group's furbabies. http://www.corax.com/feline/remember.html Many thanks to Jim for creating the site and to Rena for maintaining it. Those of you who have made contributions to the fund should already have my address; those of you who have not, I will gladly provide it by private e-mail. So....any of you who have recently lost your little ones and do not have a scanner or have no way of sending pics of your lost little ones to the tribute page, send me your photograph, I will scan it and send the pic to you via private e-mail and return the photo to you. The only charge will be the 32 cent stamp you put on the envelope to send it to me. If you wish any cropping of the pic just indicate what you would like cropped. I will send you both the cropped and uncropped versions. If the photo you send is a second copy and you do not require the photo to be returned to you, indicate that also. Be assured, I will not throw away any photos I receive for scanning that you do not wish returned. I will keep them in my personal files.
