I think it is also a time to reflect on those loved ones who have gone on to the gates of heaven, and not less significantly, our precious furbabies who have gone on to the Bridge and are waiting for us! I will be thinking about our veterans everywhere and also my treasured family and friends who are no longer here, and also all the furangels who are waiting for me at the Bridge! Lots of thank yous to Larry and others on the list and elsewhere for helping to protect us, and wonderful memories of loved ones past, and special warm fuzzy thoughts of all our precious furries at the Bridge! Hugs to you all!!! -- Kathy G and the 3 furries in Daytona Beach =^.^= Rusty =^.^= Smokey =^.^= Money see us at: http://cgi.gambitsys.com/homey/webdoc5.htm The Cat: Mother Nature's Masterpiece -------------------------------------- From: "Lynn or Josiah Stickels" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Stinker the vicious cat:) Date: Sat, 23 May 1998 14:36:19 -0700 Reply-to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Well, I was at the vets today and got to talk to the vet about Stinker's attacks. No bill.:) I now have two vets interested in my Stinker cat.:) She gave me a prescription for an antidepresant to give him before bedtime. Like mamma like kitty.:O) I could never not sleep with him. We always have our nap time together, that is our special time. He loves to tuckle up and be close to me. I'll take the attacks to be able to be close to him. That is what you call true love.:) Besides, my face will heal. I did give him a good talking to this morning!:) Thank you all for all of the advice that you gave to me. I really appreciate it.....................Lynn(Stinker) -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator Date sent: Sat, 23 May 1998 18:41:39 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re:..Stinker Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hey Lynn, We could get you a hockey goalie mask for you:>) I sure hope the Elavil helps and you don't have to tell your friends you have been in a "cat fight". Seriously, I hope this takes care of the problem for you, and your other cats!. barb -------------------------------------- From: "Lynn or Josiah Stickels" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Barb.......funny:) Date sent: Sat, 23 May 1998 16:45:49 -0700 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, I love your sense of humor!:O) It is kind of funny now that I think of it.:) You never know what will happen next. I do worry about your face and eyes tho! Maybe trim his nails, that might dull it a little anyway. I just had a silly thought, can cats sleep walk? People do strange things when they sleepwalk, and they look as tho they are wide awake. It's only at night he does this? We know they dream, we just don't know about what. Maybe he's dreaming he's being attacked. We may never know. barb -------------------------------------- From: chere@nwnexus.com (Cheryl A. If it weren't so dangerous for you, it would be funny. But a cat attack in the middle of the night can be quite unsettling. Sleep with one eye open ? What medication did the Vet prescribe for Stinker ? ...marilyn... -------------------------------------- From: "Lynn or Josiah Stickels" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Claude Hortsmann......Stinker Date: Sat, 23 May 1998 15:25:40 -0700 Reply-to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi! It is funny now.:) I gave him a good talking to this morning! The vet prescribed some elavil(antidepresant) to give to him at night. I'm getting kind of leary though of going to bed with him!:) I guess no worse than a man.:) Just kidding guys. I changed my cat food to an all natural food. Hopefully it is nothing serious. Oh, after fighting with me, he got up and started after any cat that was in his way. What a brat!:) Thanks for your concern.................Lynn(and my nerotic cat, Stinker) -------------------------------------- From: "Lynn or Josiah Stickels" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Barb;;;;;;;; Date sent: Sat, 23 May 1998 17:40:57 -0700 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, Very humorous!!! It does not diminish what the veterans and active service members are doing and have done. I'd say go ahead with it. I know all about the nail-trimming deal. Lefty has claws like a BEAR! His nails are vicious looking. He has injured me several times just playing. I hated to have him de-clawed because of the expense, but especially because it is a pretty involved procedure. So, I decided to trim them a little and see if that helped. I tried the pet clippers, but that seemed to splinter them pretty bad so I got a pair of those toe-nail clippers for people and used those. If you snip a little at a time, it trims them nicely with very little splintering. I didn't even have to trim them terribly short to take the 'bite' out of them. That was more than 2 months ago and they are just now getting vicious looking again. I would definitely try that if I were you. Lefty sleep with his paw on my face (I LOVE THAT!) and I am going to trim his again in case he has a wild dream or something while his paw in next to my eye. Barb is right, this could be very dangerous so you need to take some precautions. But, I know what you mean about sleeping with him, I love night time and nap-time snuggles with Lefty. (Poncho is a foot kitty--she sleeps on my feet, but Lefty sleeps on my neck or my cheek all the time.) I hope you both sleep better tonight. Angela. I'd like to participate in one, but I'd have a hard time being part of a ceremony espousing religious beliefs I don't share. Surely someone has a candle ceremony involving Bast at the very least. -Jennifer -------------------------------------- From: katseven@pcsia.com Date sent: Sat, 23 May 1998 21:55:02 -0600 Subject: Re: [Re: Candle Ceremony] To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi, Jennifer, I haven't seen a pagan candle ceremony for pets, but what's to stop us from creating one? I think it's a lovely idea--the more people/cats we can reach, the better. That might be a very big fight! :O) I know what you mean about snuggly time. I treasure those moments. Stinker does too. I pick him up and say its nap time and he knows exactly what I mean. So, what is a face anyway?:O) I love my neurotic cat! Although I am getting kind of head shy.;0 ) Hopefully this new antidepressant will help. I think I will sleep with my back to him tonight.:) You know I never thought of giving a cat an antidepressant. With leukemia I guess one would be very depressed. Poor baby.:( I love your sense of humor. It did make me smile in the mist of this little tradgedy..:) Thanks!:O),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Lynn I needed a good laugh!!!:O) -------------------------------------- END
