Your vet seems to be approaching Rubin's situation w/ great sensitivity. That sounds very hopeful, and then of course we have Rubin's indomitable spirit.... Is Sophia on Interferon or immunoregulin? She's your 4 year-old, right? Let us know how things go today. We were not able to break Panther's fever. We will most likely talk to the vet today and let him close his eyes. It IS so hard to let go. I feel like I am losing part of myself. I know this is such a hard thing to deal with, but I am CERTAIN that Panther knows how hard you worked to take care of him, and I know that he understands the love you have for him. I share your tears and sorrow. You are in our thoughts and prayers. How are you doing? I know this is an incredibly hard time for you. Please don't feel pressured to respond-- I just wanted to provide an opening if you are hurting too much to know where to begin. Panther has touched the source of love in your heart, and together you can handle whatever form this love must take. peace & light, ....marilyn.... About 3 months ago she came down with high fever,106 that run for several days. You may know antibiotics don't bring feever down. Vet put Beatrice on ice packs every two hours, and when that didn't work, she gave her a baby Aspirin. The vet told me that cats can be given Aspirin may be once in 3 weeks or so, but I don't know if Beatrice was given even a whole tablet. Anyway, 24 hours later her temp came down, and so far she seems well. Maybe Barb can comment whether Aspirin is a good option for Panther. It works within 30 minutes or an hour. My guess is, whatever nasty bug your cat had, and maybe Panther to, is just so tough it takes several days to finally kill it off. I hope Panther is strong enough to handle it. barb -------------------------------------- From: "Equinox Corp." I hope & pray that it's not too late to help your precious baby. Beatrice run a high fever of 106 for 3 or 4 days. She was in & out of cool baths, & cold packs every 2 hours all those days. Then as I said finally the vet gave her the baby Aspirin, and still her temp stayed high for another day before it came down. Would you like me to have my vet call you? This is so hard. Hang in there. That's amazing!! At present we gave Panther a shot of Dipyrone, a non-steriod inflammatory medication supposed to bring the fever down (hopefully). Instead of hiding, he is in the living room half hiding behind the sofa--hopefully it is working. We don't want to take his temp just yet. The on-call vet also added Clavamox to the Baytril. Siliha, I really appreciate the suggestion--I know Lynn had also suggested it previously. I really appreciate all the suggestions people make--perhaps SOMETHING will work.
