So what does the Interferon do then? I havn't had a chance to re-search it yet, I will do that today. Also Linda P said to use Ambrotose ..it's a natural version of Acemannan. Thanks, talk to you soon. Kelly & Jade -------------------------------------- From: Kelly To: "'felvtalk@mailinglist.net'" Date: Thu, 14 May 1998 14:18:41 -0700 Reply-to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hey all, Jade seems ok. I hope the Prednisone works well on him as well as the COMBO drops, Its only been a day and their in pill form so it takes a day or two for the Pred to kick in I hear. I'm thinking about if the drops don't work and the Uveitis does continue spread all over his good eye leaving him blind in both eyes. I don't know what I would or should do. Besides his eyes he seems to be dealing with FeLV really well. Apetite, strength, are all up. I was wondering if anyone has got some facts on Ambrotose. I think im going to get some off Linda P. I did a archive search on it, and it looks like it seems to help. I was also thinking about getting some Interferon as well. Would having Jade on Pred, Ambrotose, and Interferon mix well? I want to thank everyone who has helped me along and given advice and information, It has really helped. Thanks!!!! I know that others have used the acemannan and interferon in combination. The only thing I've been warned away from while giving the pred is immuno-regulin. I haven't started ambrotose or acemannan yet, but Ninja's been on the Interferon with the pred for a week now and is doing just fine. She's been more playful and active. She even woke me up at 2:30 this morning for no apparent reason. Good kitty. Good luck and keep us updated!! barb+ninja -------------------------------------- From: "Steve Lackow" To: Subject: Re: Pooters II Date sent: Thu, 14 May 1998 15:22:05 -0700 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hey Greg, quite a report. I do tend to agree that the little ones BORN with feline leukemia succumb earlier to the opportunistic diseases that often accompany the illness. Selena was born with FeLV, it presented itself when she was 10 weeks old and nearly claimed her then. Interferon saved her, and gave her a long run of normal kitten-hood. Ambrotose, chicken broth, vitamins.. Interferon, Pet-tinic, you're buying time. Only the Great Cat Spirit knows how much. So relax, enjoy each moment mindfully aware of how precious the time is. Trying to anticipate early warning signals will just rob you of the delight of living in the moment. Love is the answer.. now, what was the question ? ..marilyn.. We're talking Amaretto Cheesecake, thoroughly chilled and garnished with almonds and grated chocolate..... It grew out of some gently composed messages and humor that passed between many of us on the MailingList in early April. And the thought of Cheesecake to celebrate the end of FeLV became a hoped for dream. Makes my day! In retrospect, my cat never had a chance, the virus was in her bone marrow, level five, probably since birth. BTW, there may be as many as six strains of the virus; and I believe there are at least 3 different vaccines. Ask your vet about it. -- Steve -------------------------------------- From: "Steve Lackow" To: Subject: Re: symptoms Date sent: Thu, 14 May 1998 18:56:56 -0700 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net The question to love is the answer is... I feel like every little bit if news like this gives hope to us all. Sometimes I look at Lefty's precious little face and want to cry because I know what can happen. He is only 11 months old and I can't stand it. Then, I hear stuff like this and think at least he has a CHANCE! And especially Poncho who has tested positive once but never showed any symptoms yet. (Going to re-test in a few more weeks. One vet says test 3 weeks apart, One says 5 weeks, another says 3 months. What do you all think?) I know we have had a lot of losses here lately, but I personally want to thank each of you who have shared the progress and set-backs on this list. Every single piece of information we get about this illness brings us closer to conquering it--or at least holding it at bay for awhile. I hope this news is as uplifting to everybody else as it has been to me. I love to hear that someone kicked butt where this nasty thing is concerned. Way to go Chaz!!!!!!! I am sure that when she finally goes to the Bridge she will be sending many strays your way--she must know how much you love her. I know how hard this must be for you but to give her nothing but peace and love for the remainder of her life, no matter how long . . . is all any of us could want. She is a lucky cat to have a human like you! You and Pooters II are definitely in my thoughts. Nancy -------------------------------------- END
