I did a bit of research on Vitamin C and other naturopathic treatments for lymphosarcomas. It appears that the combination of Vitamin C and Pau d'Arco is beneficial and has no untoward side effects. the form of The Vitamin C is not that critical, natural sources are probably more bioavailable than artificial. Also, do not use ascorbic acid, use a buffered form or the ester. Doseages should be adjusted to the individual case, but it appears that 250 mg of C is a good start point. This may be slowly increased up to 1000mg if the cat is tolerating this dose and there are no other organ failures to deal with. Pau d'Arco dose is rather empirical, one eighth to one quarter of the human dose should be sufficient and safe. Hope this helps. M. W. Cats with heart murmurs may be undergoing seizures from blood clot release from the damaged heart valve causing circulation problems in the nervous system. I would consult your veterinarian for treatment of these problems. The seizure activity can be controlled with phenobarbital usually. M. W. I'm sorry it wasn't as smooth as it could have been, but he was at home, I believe that makes a big difference. All of the babies I've lost passed away at home, my Vet is also very good that way. Please believe there is a hereafter and you and Tucker will be together again. He's watching over you now and when you do meet again it will seem like just yesterday that you parted. My deepest sympathies for your loss and pain. Take-care. Belinda Happiness is being owned by cats... I am elated that he is doing so well. Keep up all the wonderful things you are doing for him. I think back and imagine if you would hav ever put him to sleep--he would have missed a great deal of good life! He is one lucky little boy! I t seems from this attachment that they are not too pleased with his reference to them. I'm glad I brought it to their attention. Also pleased they mailed me back after looking further into it. Date sent: Sat, 2 May 1998 01:13:48 -0700 Dear Dana, I checked out the Mega-C website and downloaded some bio info. I'm in a position to render judgement, but I'm not impressed with the scientific rigor of the ads. We are in the process of reviewing our stand on alternate therapies, such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and Eastern Medicine... But this stuff is not main stream veterinary medicine. I am sorry that you've lost your best friend. Sorry seems to be such a small word. You are not alone. My daughter and I shed tears for you and Tucker. What a moving memorial! Please know that a physical body dies,Glen, but love is eternal. Tucker is eternal because you love him and will never forget him. You and Tucker are in our prayers. Hang in there.
