It can be purchased from a website or my homeopathic vet. Let me know if you're interested. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net NOTE: I received a call from the vet at about 4:30 and she said Lefty was doing very well. His gums are pink, he has more energy and in her words he is "Eating like an absolute PIG!!!" The assistant told me that she went to check on him and he RAN to the front of the cage meowing at her. When she opened the cage, he climbed out onto her and snuggled into her arms and purred. I was thrilled to hear this. They said he is looking very well so they were going to wait a couple more hours and start the immunoregulon injectons. The vet asked me if I wanted her to contact a vet closer to home to give these injections since it is such a long trip and it would be about twice a week for awhile. I thought that was really nice. I am going to call a couple of vets tomorrow and ask if they would do that. I still haven't told hubby about Lefty and I don't plan to unless he asks. I told him he had to stay and he didn't ask for details. I think I am going to do some creative financing in the checkbook and keep my mouth shut! Just wanted to update everybody. Thanks for your concern. You should have it Saturday with any luck. If they tell me you can't get it then, I'll wait until Monday. I am going to wrap the frozen plastic bottle in a frozen towel and then wrap it in newspaper. That should keep it from thawing out too much. I can't get any dry ice right now. Your vet can give you a plastic syringe. I go seven days on and seven days off. Keep it in the frig. I put it in the syringe for a few minutes before I give it to my furballs. I just shot it over their tongues. I'll let you know when I mail it. Don't worry about shipping. Just get Lefty better. It's a small spray bottle - costs about $36.00 & you use it to stop Kitties from spraying urine in your house, calm your Kitties, or to help them all get along. I've used it because Kritter sprays (he's a neutered male/with FUS) & the only way he can pee sometimes is to spray - well, once he started, he hasn't stopped. Until I got Feliway - it's a really good product & a good idea! Works great for me!!!! It is relatively easy for a vet to detect, IF he/she knows what they are looking for. I would not put ANYTHING in a cat's eyes before checking with a vet and/or opthamologist!!! I use Viroptic drops when there is a flareup, but they are VERY (sorry for shouting) expensive. And from the description of Tucker's Eye, I would not suspect herpes!! So, all I'm saying is please get a diagnosis before treating with anything directly in the eyes. Herpes is a virus and so like FeLV, it is hard to treat and probably , at this point, there is no cure - but again, we try to boost the immune system and hopefully keep the flareups as far apart as possible! If anyone wants to discuss the herpes virus further, please email me purrsonally!! It didn't sound like herpes to me either, but thought I should mention the possiblity. barb -------------------------------------- To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Date sent: Thu, 23 Apr 1998 22:06:51 -0400 Subject: Re: Tucker's Dad: My Bad Luck From: naohalloran@juno.com (Naomi J O'Halloran) Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Greg, Ya know, I think I've seent that stuff at work, so I shouldn't have a problem getting it. I'll ask at work tomorrow. Thanks for the idea. I'll be so thrilled if it works. Then maybe I'll be able to help that little kitty. Question--do they stop spraying immediately, or does it take awhile? Thanks! How much of the Mega C Plus is supposed to be given each meal (or daily)? Do you see any difference in your cats health since giving it to them? Were your cats vaccinated for felv? I don't know if Gretchen has been vaccinated, but would take a guess that she hadn't been. Is it so expensive that it would discourage anyone from trying it for a year to see what effect it would have on an unvaccinated cat? I'm a bit wary of this, but want to keep an open mind just in case he is on to something good. I would hate to not try it out and find out down the road that it would have saved her life if I had. Maybe if it isn't too expensive I'll try it because Gretchen may not be vaccinated, so according to the information, should be able to be turned negative. Are you thinking of trying it? I know what you mean about if something sounds to good to be true------, but what if? My kitties think the trim on every door is a scratching post, and we're in an apartment. I will see about getting this from the Vet. Belinda Happiness is being owned by cats...
