I'm on AOL and can't seem to get the file to download properly, nor can I read it. Am I the only one or is anyone esle having the same problem? And if not, can the post be posted differently, so it does not have to be downloaded? Thanks. I believe she is using Microsoft mail, and for some reason an "in-line attachment" data file (winmail.dat) is being sent with every message. Since "dat" files are binary files, they are not readable in text formats such as your mail tools. Deborah, do you know why this in-line attachment is sent with your mail- is supposed to be a signature file? To the folks having problems reading Deborah's mail- can you at least read the text parts of her messages? If so, I'd just ignore all of the binary stuff since it isn't really part of her messages. Take care, and I hope this explains what's going on. Talk to y'all soon. In loving memory of Vyvyan: March 20, 1988 - August 15, 1997 James G. It is sometimes nice to chat in person....I have started a chat room on ICQ called "Kittyhelp" - the no. is 10867605. The idea is to be able to chat in person when necessary...... I would appreciate your comments Thanks! Nina -------------------------------------- From: "James G. Someone suggested to me privately (non-list person) to get ICQ so that he could get immediate answers to his questions about FeLV and his cat's symptoms. Because of my eye sight, it is difficult for me to use it for very long periods of time, but I think it is good idea for short conversations where people have very specific questions that need quick responses. For those that don't have ICQ, you can download it from: http://www.mirabilis.com Although I'm not online to ICQ much (although I will be if folks feel there is a need for it), here is my ICQ#: 10396935 Nina, I hope your project is productive and you can get lots of people to be a part of it. Take care, and best wishes. In loving memory of Vyvyan: March 20, 1988 - August 15, 1997 James G. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net To Whom It May Concern, Forgive me if Ive asked this before, but perhaps I wasn't specific enough. As many of you may know, my cat, Tucker, was virtually 20 minutes from being put to sleep--and then somewhat miraculously--the interferon/prednisone regimen he just started apparently kicked in. He was literally back to 100% for a little over a week. However, he has leveled it. Yet, he is nowhere near as bad as he was. At his worst he had the "third eyelid" thing going on, slept 23 hours a day, was force fed, didn't groom, didn't really use his box, was on sub-cu fluids, couldn't walk, etc. Now he eats pretty well, uses the box, doesn't have the eyelid problem, is up and about a lot more, he grooms adequately, etc. However, he did get a bit lethargic again and he doesn't have a voracious appetite. We also noticed that his nose was quite pale. We took him to the vet and his CBC revealed mild anemia, which I assume could only get worse. We have him on iron supplements currently, but some people have recommended EPOGEN. My vet, who hasn't used it on any animals, said he would be willing to give it a try--but it was up to me to research the side effects, dangers, etc. Also, Im sure he could use some guidance on the protocols for administration. My concern is that Tucker is doing "pretty-good" right now, and I don't want to risk killing him by trying something new like EPOGEN. So, anyone who has any experience with EPOGEN please assist me with any information you might have. Also, as far as TRANSFUSIONS are concerned, I do have a volunteer cat, but Im curious if TRANSFUSIONS are only used when RBC's are nearing zero or can/should it be done earlier? Thanks, Glen & Tucker P.S. Although I am very satisfied with my vet, I'd love to take Tucker to a Felv treatment expert. If anyone knows of one in the New York City area please let me know. -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator Date sent: Fri, 10 Apr 1998 17:50:25 EDT To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: ICQ chat room Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Nina, Sounds like a great idea but how do you access it?
