But since I've noticed few people visit the guestbook, I going to repost it here especially for you. I hope it's new to you. If not, well my intentions were good. I shall see beauty but none to match your living grace. I shall hear music but none as sweet as the droning song with which you loved me. I shall fill my days but I shall not, cannot forget. Sleep soft, dear friend... It's been awhile since I was on here. Danny is much better now. He had a very major surgery, a colonosopy. Anyhow my spelling. I almost lost him. His blood pressure went real high, a high fever. And a heart rate of 150. It took a few days for him to get up to speed. The doctor now says he's ahead of recovery. He may be home on Wednesday. 4 months of recovery and a second small operation. It was hard. And now I feel somewhat like I'm stuck with alot. I still have to work full time, and help maintain the park we caretake at, and take care of him. It's going to be a long long 4 months. I was just joking with someone about being a nut case. I'll be certified in 4 months. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Didn't have a clue as to the source of the stuff! Quit after the first 40, but it looks like the highest natural source is spinach, and is also found in potatoes. I buy mine from Barth's Naturally 800-645-2328. It has no additives. Also, for more on alpha-lipoic acid go to the following sites: http://www.aegis.com/aegis/pubs/atn1997/ATNZ6802.html; http://www.pozforce.com/antiox.html; http://www.immunet/atn.nsf/page/nac2.html; http://www.nos.net/vitalsource/multi2.html; http://www.lifeservices.com/alphlipo.htm Hope this helps. We have been giving her some Nutracal, and we put Prozyme (a digestive enzyme) into her dry food as well (she won't eat the canned food if it's in there, and it's usually easier for her to eat that - although she still eats both). She has been having some pretty good size bowel movements lately, so we know she's getting the food intake, we just don't know how well her body is absorbing the stuff, as it feels like she still seems to be losing. Also, she really doesn't like meat, raw or cooked, so we keep trying with the cat food. She seems to like the kitten replacement formula and the a/d, both high in proteins and very nutririous for her. Please both you and Roger try to find some comfort in the fact that you were there with him and he didn't suffer in the end. Take care of each other and know that Ernie is in a place where pain will never touch him again. My prayers are with you. Belinda Happiness is being owned by cats... Of course, anything as vegetal as this is not going to be well-received in kitty land. -- Steve -------------------------------------- From: macat@webtv.net (belinda sauro) Date sent: Sun, 5 Apr 1998 21:36:52 -0700 To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Duncan Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, I'm sorry you have lost another baby, Its really hard when they seem fine one day and all of a sudden the next day their gone. It is a comfort to be in touch with people who are as caring and who will go literally to the ends of the earth to help their special children. I am still grieving over the loss of little Precious and I know she is waiting at Rainbow Bridge withthe others - where there is no pain and suffering, just peace and love. Taking each day as it comes is good advice but hard to follow sometimes. It is wonderful that each of your babies had such love until the very end. The final act of love of course is of releasing them from your care when the time comes. It is just so hard to let them go, releasing them from their pain and leaving you with yours. Titch is holding his own and seemed a little better yesterday. Just to put everyone in the picture, I am on this List for a friend who has a FeLv+ child called Titch. I read all the mails and then print the relevant ones for onward transmission to Titch's vet. One of the problems that we have is that most of the drugs are unknown here or are under different names. However progress is being made although so far Titch's tests and treatment have cost over R3000,00. Not that one would ever put a money value on saving a precious child but the fact that you have to take a bank overdraft to pay for your efforts on your cat's behalf is an inditement (duh - can't spell that but you know what I mean!) against the vet system in this country. They appear to be dedicated to euthenasia. We only go to vets who see beyond this "solution" and who wouldnt dream of recommending killing as they know WE will tell them when we believe nothing more can be done. Sending hugs and caring thoughts to everyone who has lost Precious Children especially Barb who has done and continues to do so much to help everyone on this list who is struggling with this viscious virus. With so much caring and effort, a cure for FeLv MUST be found eventually. If kitty won't eat you can dissolve the Nutracal in water and squirt it down her throat with a syringe. George hates it but I think the nutrients are helping her.....good luck!
