He is sick to his stomach, vomiting a little and has begun to cough. I give him the immunoregulin shots once a week now, interferon, digest a meal, flora support, super antioxidants, insure plus, CoQ10, PauDArco. I just started him on the Ambrotose about three days ago and also stopped the antibiotics he was taking. He had been on Antirobe and CefaDrops for an indefinite period of time. Shall I start him back on the antibiotics? That is the only thing that is really different that I have done. In the past, he would get sick without them. Thanks for any help.................Lynn(Stinker) -------------------------------------- From: "RDC" To: Subject: Request for help Date sent: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 06:54:07 +0100 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net This message was posted to the pinboard on my Feline Leukemia site. (posted for Ted David) Hi After losing our sweet DSH after 14 years to oral cancer, we took in a stray from the local pound. Less than 24 hours after we learned she tests positive to FelLeukemia. We have been told this could go away in 6 weeks time...or maybe not. That she could be just a carrier or might come down with a weakened immune system and eventually succumb to God knows what. We will NOT euthanize her...this is not an option unless she gets sick and suffers. Right now she is ten weeks old and as sweet as can be. What can I look forward to? Would appreciate honest answers so we do not kid ourselves but by the same token..don't want to be humming funeral durges of not neccessary. Thanks. It's ebelen@eudoramail.com Thank you RDC .......................................... Hi. My name is Eleanor Belen and last Saturday my kitty "Cow" was diagnosed with FeLV. since then, things have been going downhill. I don't know what to do and my vet is still on an ignorant trip that nothing can be done for her. I refuse to give up on my baby. What can I do for Cow? Where can I go to get her treated? And about how much would it cost? That's one thing I'm scared of is the price. I'm a college student and at the moment I'm unemployed. But I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I love her so much and I will never give up on her. Please help. Thanks, ellie belen -------------------------------------- From: WORKPARK Date sent: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 02:52:04 EST To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Request for help Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi Ted! Just read your post to RDC that she forwarded from her website. You really need to check out "Newer Methods for Treating FeLV+ Cats" at http://www.angelfire.com/il/felv/ and get on the mailing list (it's where I saw your post). I'm sure other people are emailing you, but since your cat is so young - it's my understanding that sometimes young cats can fight off the disease and become negative. Also, there is a high percentage of false test readings (up to 80%) if it was the ELISA test was done, and not an IFA test. You might want to post a note through the mailing list to Dr. Myers - he's a vet that helps us out a lot - and he can explain the situation to you more technically. In addition, Jim Wilson, the owner of both the website and the mailing list, can probably give you a better response than I can about the tests in a young cat and possible results. He can be reached at phaedrus@ctnet.net. Good luck, and I hope to see you on the mailing list soon! I currently have a healthy appearing foster cat (1.5 years old) she is playful, eats (lots). She is separated from my other cats. I did a FIP titre on her which was initially 1:400, repeat in a month went to 1:1600 and a repeat 5 weeks later 1:1600. My only concern was that she had a big tummy, vet thought it was fat & still does, an abdominal tap and xray = no fluid. She is not anemic, has a very slight elevation in total protein, normal white count, negative for felv, fiv, hemobart. She appears so incredibly healthy and playful that I can't imagine she is sick. It poses a problem adopting her out, though I have someone thinking it over (indoor, solo cat). If Kayla does become ill, I am committed to caring for and loving her for the rest of her life. My vet's opinion is that she is just fine, may be a carrier, may develop FIP, may be a coronavirus, who knows. I had a kitten that I lost to FIP, and she went very fast. I have read most of the FAQs, the Cornell info etc. seems there is no good answer. Any advice, experience etc is welcome! Liz -------------------------------------- From: "James G. I bring this up here because the effects of this organism on cats is just too similar to FeLV. I hope this article will answer some of the questions raised here. Take care, and best wishes. One of those stores was the Peoria Petsmart. The AHS would be starting Sunday Adoptions at that store effective March 15th, 1998. The problem is, that AZ-HART has been doing our Sunday adoptions for 2 1/2 years at the Peoria Petsmart, and now we are out, the Arizona Humane Society is in. But Petsmart would be happy to try and relocate us at one of the Petsmarts vacated by the AHS. Those available stores, turns out, are no closer than 45 minutes away, instead of 10 minutes away. AZ-HART is not the only small rescue groups affected. The AHS has displaced many other rescue organizations in this process. It's very sad. The message posted 3/8/98 had an error in the Email address for the Arizona Humane Society. For those wishing to voice their concerns and questions over this takeover, The correct AHS Email address is: arizonahumanesociety@worldnet.att.net Read the message in its entirety on our AZ-HART web site. Click on the "WOW News" icon on our home page. No rescue group should have the right to trample over others on the way to getting something it wants. But apparently the AHS can. And it has. Seems the messages took over a week to get to her because of the typo: her address is murnan@turbosurf.com . My Vet got DMG for me in liquid form, the DMG in tabs are sublingual and the dogs seem to have an easier time of it. Just thought I'd pass that tidbit on, y'all keep on truckin'. .marilyn. -------------------------------------- From: "Lynn Stickels" To: "felvtalk" Subject: Dr. Myers-Stinker Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 21:13:22 -0800 Reply-to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi, again.
