He has only been on the Ambrotose for 6 days, but his appetite has picked up. (not his weight yet, but no further loss either.) Your other cats arent' sick are they?? I hope not. If they are well, you may not see much of a change. Hope you and your husband are doing ok, it does get a little better as time goes by. barb -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 15:49:35 EST To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Interferon Strength Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Steve, I guess you have to believe the vet if he insists the dose is correct. It could be the first batch you had was in NS and it is the LR she is tasting. It has more electrolyes in it. Don't know what to tell you on this one. barb -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 15:52:04 EST To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Meeko mending?? Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Dana, Glad Meeko is on the mend. Another good reason for keeping cats indoors. They are hunters and scavangers by nature and outside will do what cats do best and this gets them into trouble sometimes. barb -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator@aol.com Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 14:21:54 EST To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Problems Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Carol, Got this one, glad you are still there. I've been having my problems to, but most of mine are usually self inflicted by my own computer stupidity. Saline solution makes more sense to me too, because it's salty. I'm sure that's why cats prefer the commercial cat food, too -- absolutely loaded with sodium. -- Steve -------------------------------------- Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 16:11:39 -0600 (CST) From: Katherine Pauline Alexander To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Questions Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Jim, Thanks for the info. I will mention it to my vet one more time just to see what he says. Plus, Dianne took him off the Interferon with no apparent ill effects, as I noticed when I tried it with Chloe (anemia, fatigue). You can visit this Smudge at http://home.att.net/~RAMBLD/ . -- Steve -------------------------------------- From: Newtanator Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 17:33:14 EST To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Wuzzy Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Steve, Glad you brought this up. I thought it was the same smudge. barb -------------------------------------- Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 15:28:48 -0800 From: Dana Crow Organization: Magical Moments Preschool To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Meeko mending?? Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, You're right about the indoor vs outdoor but we have 10 acres here & goats, rabbits, chickens etc. so we like the cats to catch the "vermin". It was hopefully one of those 1 in a million. I will be getting him home tonight. He is still quite a sick boy but will likely do better a home. He is busy rattling the bars in the cage today. 1st RBC showed 3.8 white count & 570/3800 Bands . Two days on antibiotics & now 15.p white count & 318/3800 bands & moderate toxic change. I will be sure to keep him far, far, away from my positive kitties for a while. Thanks for your support & reassurance (everyone else's too) I know that he does not have feluke but at least it was a story with a happy ending on this list for a change. Thanks again everyone!! She is asympomatic right now but I panicked when I saw the blood. She had roundworms. We adopted her last July and she was wormed then and then 2 months later. Couldn't believe she still had them. So this time, I got enough medicine to worm all four of my cats every 2 weeks for 2 months. My vet said that the blood was probably caused by irritation of the intestinal wall from the worms. I was just glad it wasn't Felv related. Hope this helps. Leslie -------------------------------------- Date sent: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 18:56:16 -0600 (CST) From: "Nancy A. Kinda the same scenario you explained. I also have meds to treat every 2 weeeks for 3 times. Vet also thinks it maybe this too!! I did notice many worms in the feces of one of them. Perhaps the medicine is doing its work. For some mighty compelling test results on Acemannan, go to my site at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/6167/ and click on "Research". You'll also find the Ambrotose info, and more new stuff. Barb, I've also added a much belated link to Merlin and your page off the "Tributes" section. -- Steve -------------------------------------- END OF PART 2: See Part 3 at: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/8025/9802263.txt
