Sunday February 22, 1998 Part 3 11 Messages ====================================== From: DLMLLM@aol.com Date sent: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 19:55:35 EST To: Felvtalk@mailinglist.net Subject: Russian Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net She's still with us. Got more food into her. I won't give up till she's ready. She has a temp. tonight. About 2 degrees. She's sleeping of course.Guess I'llbe on the couch tonight next to her. It's time to be with her and let the suffering end. There is only so much anyones spirit can stand. Be it a person or an animal. We'll get through this. Just wish for a miracle maybe. If I rush back to the vet and stick her on IV's again and make her keep going when she does not have it anymore then she would again maybe recover some and have to suffer this way again. None of you can see how far gone she is, but you know from experience. I've still feeding her, will continue the meds. And take her to the bathroom. I'm glad Copley did okay for so long a time. I would hope the best for Russian. But her red cells are down and not reproducting. And the blood transfusion did not work. Just keep giving me courage, I used most of mine up with three funerals last year. You are there with Russian and you can look in her eyes. You know what is right. Everyone told me I would know when it was time. There were many times when I was unsure, but when the time came there was no doubt. Hang in there and just continue to give Russian your love and support. That is all that is needed at this time. You will know what to do as Russian will tell you what to do. You are not alone as we are all thinking of you..... You must be so tired. We are all hoping for that miracle, but you have to do what you feel is right for Russian. Sometimes if we let nature take its course, it fools us. I did not take Merlin to the vet for a full week after his paralysis set in because I was sure he was going to die, he was not suffering and so I wanted to keep him with me. I sort of let nature it's course there and look what happened. So we just never know. Will be thinking of you. He is the heart and soul of the group. He does hours of research, reading rather boring scientific journals and abstracts looking for any little grain of information that might help us, yet rarely comes to the fore. He lost his Vyvyan before the group was formed and it is his honor and all the others that we keep on truckin. Not one lost will be in vain. barb -------------------------------------- From: DLMLLM@aol.com Date sent: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 21:50:21 EST To: Felvtalk@mailinglist.net Subject: Reply to catlady Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Tried to e-mail your address and it came back undelivered. Would not go through. I gave Russian an antibiotic and her fever dropped. The idea of the baby aspirin sounds good to. She is still sleeping and I'm still feeding her. Will have her in the playpen tonight in the livingroom. I intend to sleep on the couch next to it. My husband does not think it's a good idea to crowd her on the couch. I have an outdoor microphone that lets the bird sounds be heard inside and I had that on most of the day for her. I hope tomorrow I get up and she's sitting up looking around. When is Norton in relation to Toledo? I am just across the state line into Michigan from Toledo. Might it be faster to drive it there?? Or meet someone? Of course, I may not hear from you before leaving for work at 8 am, in which case, I will send either overnight or same day mail. It isn't very heavy, so won't be much. I hope Russian hangs on for you, but what will be, will be. Take care and try to get some rest at least. barb -------------------------------------- Date sent: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 23:00:29 +0000 From: LawBet Organization: Home for Wayward Felines To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Russian Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Linda, If you quietly look around, you will find many souls standing the vigil with you. They are packed in so tightly you could not falter even if you wanted to. They are feeding you strength and encouragement from the combination of their wills. The Trailblazers have arrived. If nature sees fit to call Russian this night, she will have a royal crossing. Larry (The Lurker) -------------------------------------- END
