If it wasn't for the web page she would have died (her rbc was plummeting -severe anemia took two of our other cats). George has been on Immunoregulin, Interferon and (yes) Pred (dose is very very small) for almost 4 months now and, thank god, has had no symptoms except an occasional cold. Jim has LOTS of reasons to get up in the morning!!!! Thank you to Jim and everyone on the list! I am so very sorry to hear it is not good news. You remarked about my courage? Look at you! You are very, very brave and you have been by Russian's side every moment. It is very hard now, but you will take comfort later in knowing that you were there. And trust me, Russian realizes all you have done and feels all of your love. You and Russian are not alone right now. We are all there sharing this difficult time with you. I was searching the net for information about FELV and FIP when I came across your web page and couldn't believe all the new treatments. Your web gave me courage and inspiration--the belief that I could do something to help my beloved creature cats. It started me on a whirlwind of looking into what I could do for Jakie and Panny. And then . . . once I joined this group I have learned tons of other things, written them down to use when the time comes. I have hope now . . . where there was none. I feel that if my little guys start going downhill there are other things to try, things I would not have known about before--without your wonderful web page and this wonderful group. We all--my husband, Jake, Panther, and 5 other cats plus me thank you and the group for all you have given us! I can not imagine how helpless you must feel but I am sure that you have done all you can for her & it is now out of your hands. I hope that if she leaves you for the bridge, it will be quick & peaceful & that she can live on in your memories forever. She has put up a valiant fight. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, Still haven't heard from the lady in Ca. perhaps today. I did use the Yahoo search on Mannatech but most links had errors or would not let me in. (1 even had an illegal operation & shut me down????) I don't understand this kind of stuff. Any way, the 1 link I could access had a distributer in Calgary Alberta & I E mailed her. Hope to hear back today, if not perhaps we'll try again to California. Thanks, Dana -------------------------------------- From: "Cheri Gardiner" To: Subject: Re: Curious???? Date sent: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 12:44:14 -0600 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, Put my name on the list of little ones who are doing well because of this list. I take printed pages into the vet every time I go. My two are on Interferon and got the Immunoregulin because the vet was alerted to those treatments by this list. To me, it's the first thing I check daily. Jim, Kitty and Chaz thank you and so do I. You are a blessing. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I just had to emphasize what Barb said. No one should give up as this road is so uncertain. I lost Copley, but we were able to put up a good fight. When he was first diagnosed, back in October there was no doubt he did not have long. I cried myself sick. I was just sorry I would not play with him one last time or do anything else with him one last time. I got three and a half more months! He was here for his 2nd birthday and he was here for the holidays. And we got to play lots. I was able to give him quality time. I never would have had that without the information I received from this group. I consider that a success story. How many people get to say goodbye with no regrets? Plus, by the time I found out Copley was sick the leukemia was already in the final stages. So many people have signs earlier on. This gives them a much greater chance of living a longer life. Many of our stories are sad, but they are successes in their own way. Take into account all the advice you receive from your vet and all the advice from this list. Try various things and see what seems to have the best effect on your little one. There are still many of our friends here enjoying a happy life. They are proof that these treatments help. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Cheryl and Fenway, You said so much in this past correspondence, but I'll just comment on one thing. . . I'm so happy for you that you don't have regrets, that you were able to do so much for and with Copley. You advice is well taken--we all should have such a positive, healthy outlook. Thank you for sharing that. Nancy -------------------------------------- From: "Cheri Gardiner" To: Subject: Re: where can I buy Ambrotose?? Date sent: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 17:06:52 -0600 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb, Do you dilute the enchicea or give it to him straight? I have some sweet enchicea. I put a drop on Kitty's baby meat and she ate it right up. Chaz is still eating liver. Tonight I fixed steak and he ate a few pieces. A couple were raw. He took them out of the pan (on the counter) as I was cutting it in chunks. Cheri G/. Low doses of interferon appear to be no problem even if given for long periods of time. High doses must be given sporadically as the drug is potentially toxic. Fever and depression are the first side effects seen. Why is your cat being given vincristine and other medications? What are the signs he is having? M. W.
