Smeal" Subject: Re: Russian Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Linda: He indeed DID perk upafter the transfusion and to everyone's surprise made such a miraculous recovery and did well for a week and the vet said he was even starting to produce his own blood ( a few days after the transfusion) which made us all so happy. It's definately worth a try if Russian doesn't have any other options. Benny did great and I cried with joy when I saw him, he purred again and rubbed my face and jumped out of the cage at the vet clinic because he had new blood. I would definately do it because Benny was a new kitty after his first one. I don't kno why, but my vet warned me he may go down hill and after a week, he did. Bless his little heart, he cried in pain and I knew what was happening. He hung on though and I STILL wish I would have brought him home another day, I wish I would have been there alone because I know I would have brought him home a while longer. I could KICK myself hard for it. I'm not saying he would have gotten better, I wanted him to not hurt anymore though. Keep me posted, I am praying hard for Russian. On the upside, the transfusion my Chloe got helped save her life. -- Steve -------------------------------------- Date sent: Tue, 17 Feb 1998 13:08:04 -0500 From: Jenn Organization: The Chubb Corporation To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: Aloe vera-Vitamin C Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Lynn: I believe it's 4 oz aloe vera (from whole leaves), vitamin c and 10 drops of yam extract. jenn -------------------------------------- From: "Steve Lackow" To: Subject: Re: lose Date sent: Tue, 17 Feb 1998 10:17:27 -0800 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Sasha, Benny, Storm and Topaz; our special companions, we will never forget you. It sounds like even though you grieve for her that it was the right decision to make. As we all know, it is terribly hard to lose a friend and that's what our cats are to use--some of our best friends. My empathy goes out to you. Take care of yourself. Know in your heart that you did the right thing to put her in a better place. We all know you miss her and that it was a terrible thing, to have a kitten die so young. I'm glad that you can see her in your mind's eye with her sister at the Bridge. I bet they are very happy to be together if they can't be with you. I am thinking of you with empathy and wishing I could take some of your grief away. Nancy -------------------------------------- Date sent: Tue, 17 Feb 1998 12:54:19 -0600 (CST) From: "Nancy A. Just asked you if Russian was on interferon, how about Immunoregulin and I know some in the group have a hard time with prednisone, but for short=term use I think it can be helpful. Nancy -------------------------------------- From: "Steve Lackow" To: Subject: Re: Russian Date sent: Tue, 17 Feb 1998 11:31:21 -0800 Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Linda, the interferon is what I swear by. Chloe's initial batch ran out about a month ago, and per vet's instructions we took her off of it for a week or so. All else remained the same. She got very, very tired very, very quickly. She's back on now, and there is no way to tell that she is an FeLV cat, other than she sleeps a little bit more than the average cat, which is to say she sleeps an awful lot! -- Steve -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- END OF PART 2: See Part 3 at: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/8025/9802173.txt
