(We didn't test him hes been + for two years). I don't write much because Bailey is asymptomatic, he went through immunoregalin treatment for about 5 of 6 months. But he is so bad at taking medication we decided to discontinue it because he was getting so stressed out. He would acually quit eating for 2 or 3 days after a treatment. Hes been fairly healthy since, hes very sensative, so I don't want to do a lot of treatments while hes healthy because if he ever gets sick it will be that much harder. He pouts and quits eating when he has to take medicine. I guess I just wanted to explain why I don't write much, I feel so bad for you whos kitties are sick. Your always in my prayers! Is there a difference, and is one way better than the other? Thank you for your consideration of this question. There does not appear to be any significant difference in response. Doseage regimens also may be adjusted to the owner's ability to comply with giving the medicaton. Unless it gets into the cat, there will be no positive response. M. W. I use pure aloe vera juice from whole leaves, which you can buy in a health food store, mixed with a buffered Vitamin C ascorbate with bioflavonoids and added vitamins and minerals. About 4 oz of juice to 1 tbp of C, mixed in an old Grolsch beer bottle with the apothecary top -- Chloe has her medicine, and I have mine :-) For more info, visit the FeLV Support Site at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/6167/ -- Steve -------------------------------------- From: "phaedrus" To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Date sent: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 15:49:07 +0000 Subject: (Fwd) From Michele- it bounced Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- >Date: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 16:02:23 -0500 >To: felvtalk@MailingList.com >From: "Michele R. I really don't know anymore than that. It is part of Anitra Frazier's, "The Natural Cat" protocol for FELV. I've started Jake and Panther on it--haven't seen any difference, but both are doing so well that I really wouldn't expect to see a difference (knock on wood). Here is my proposal: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposed new group: alt.animals.felines.diseases Summary: The purpose would be for discussions of feline infectious diseases such as feline leukemia (FeLV), feline AIDS (FIV), and feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Justification: Although the newsgroups rec.pets.cats.health+behav and alt.med.veterinary already exist for feline health issues, these groups are far too generalized for our discussions. Folks on our FeLV mailing list have asked that I propose this because the volume on the list is becoming too much for their mail boxes. Several web pages (including my own) are dedicated to these subjects, so a centralized forum would help us pool our resources. These diseases are among the leading causes of death in the feline population, so readership should be relatively high. Thanks for your consideration, and I look forward to your suggestions on making this proposal a reality. James G. Wilson phaedrus@ctnet.net http://www.angelfire.com/il/felv/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please keep your fingers crossed that we can accomplish this. It may take at least a month for it to be up and working if it is approved. During the coming week, discussions will be held concerning the validity of such a group. You can find these discussion on the newsgroup: alt.config I do expect a certain amount of flames (nasty replies) for this proposal, but I think we can manage to get it passed. Take care, and I'll keep y'all posted during the coming weeks. Talk to y'all soon. In loving memory of Vyvyan: March 20, 1988 - August 15, 1997 James G. She is very weak. Sleeping alot, being force fed every 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get food and liquid in her. I really thought she would bounce back better with the teeth out. Do these feline leukemia cats always go down so far? It still makes me sad to see her so bad off. I'm hoping in maybe a few days she will perk up again, Is there a way to tell the symptoms of anemia other then looking in her mouth. Do you think she gets enough moisture during the feedings, we mix the Ad with warm water to help it go down better. I'd really appreciate any input that might help us here. She is taking about 2 full syringes at a time, it is a 12 cc syringe. Her results of the lung fluid came back, they found nothing unusual in the fluid. Let me know if you have any ideas. Yes, everything hits them harder. A simple cold can turn into pneumonia. Being at the vets, being put under, even briefly, the discomfort and I would imagine some infection still remains. You can check for dehydration by grabbing some skin, pull it up. If it stays up or is very slow returning to normal, she may be a little dehydrated. If it snaps back fairly fast, she is ok. Rest may be the best thing for her right now. Thinking of you. Barb -------------------------------------- END
