I'm sorry to hear Russian isn't doing well. I'll keep him in my thoughts. Let me know how you're doing, ok? When I do the anglefire.com/il/felv all I get is a personal dating sex site. I don't think my husband would understand that in our favorites. And I love the petloss. It helps. Talked to the vet today. Russian taking can milk. They want to send her home tomorrow. He temp. is back to normal. I'm a little afraid tho. Never had a cat so bad off. Think I will use my granddaughters playpen since Russian is so weak yet. They want me to give her shots under the skin. Hope I can handle it. Did it for a diabetic son, should be able to handle my cat. They are optomistic as to her recovery. She will be one very tired kitty. Please Read! Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Thank you Nancy, Benny is still doing well, but tired this morning. He rode in to work cuddled up on my lap. The veterinarian had good news yesterday and the little guy is on more meds--HE IS producing his own red blood cells, my vet gave him another costly rx that will help him and 2 other bottles of meds that he won't want to take, but he'll get better with them. Wish him luck. Benny's breath is so bad and his mouth is always wet and smelly. I still love that stinky boy though. He has been looking up at me with his bright blue eyes when he's riding into the clinic sitting cuddled in my lap, like, "Mom, thanks for helping me".........I guess I don't need to go on how much I love him and how much he means to me. Thanks to all for the prayers, we can use as many as you can give. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Barb: I am so sorry about your sweet pup. That seems so unfair that these terrible things happen to animals (the most unselfish creatures on earth) I have 3 dogs and 3 cats right now. I would do anything to save an animal and I have done that before. I love them. Too bad there weren't more folks like us and the nice folks on the mailing list. I sent an update on the list about Benny this am that you can read. Have a good day. You can add back enzymes to prepared food. This is the most convenient and with the newer enzyme products we have, it is very good. I use the Infinity2 product, Digest A Meal, as it is the most complete and effective I have found. Second in line is Prozyme, generally available through a veterinarian. I add Digest A Meal at the rate of 1/4 to 1/2 capsule to each meal. This is done right before feeding as the product begins digesting the meal in minutes after it is moistened. Alternatively, you can use a mixture of raw food. Mix one part of organ meat (liver and or kidney) to 3 parts of lean meat. Take this mixture and mix one part vegetables (green beans, peas, broccoli florets, or similar) to six parts of the meat mix. To this I add one multiple vitamin (I use Insure Plus from Infinity2) per pound and one Total Flora Support from Infinity2 (beneficial gut bacteria) per pound. This can be frozen and retain its nutritional and enzyme values for about 6 months. Do use good quality meats so they are as clean and parasite free as possible. The only drawback to feeding raw meat is the possibility of transmitting primarily tapeworms. There are a few other "bugs" that may be present, but this sort of parasitism is very much less prevalent than even 10 years ago. Let me know if you have any other questions. M. W. Schmall" To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: new kittens Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net George, My vet "thought" Jake might have FIP since he was very ill and showed up with a high protein level in his blood. I do not have my cats tested for FIP since the test only tests for coronaviruses. However, one of my cats died from what was later (in retrospect) thought to be the dry form so . . . jake has improved so much and for so long that now my vet thinks his immune system was just so devasted that it showed up with that symptom. I know protein in the blood can be indicative of other problems, from what I understand, they're all bad.
