Smeal" Subject: Good News for Benny!! Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi Everyone!!!!!!!! I called the Animal Medical Hospital just now to see how Benny is and my Veterinarian, Dr. Bob Rider said that there's some good news as far as helping Benny produce red blood cells and get him on track by giving him something that begins with an "E" (can't remember the name!) He is alo going to give him iron medicine. Poor little guy, when he sees the Interferon bottle & liquid vitamin bottle now, he goes the other way. He says that it will help so it doesn't get into his bone marrow. He thinks it's lymphosarcoma, which I figured. But, at least he can help him!!!!!!!!! I KNOW it's thanks to you all & your prayers that my baby Ben has a chance. Love you ALL... Michele & Benny Michele R. Smeal mrb2@psu.edu 107 Ritenour Bldg. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I have a question for you. If the cat is showing no symptoms why is it on antibiotics? Yogurt is actually a dairy product and the acidophilus bacteria in it are not really ideally suited for living in the digestive tract. My personal preference is Total Flora Support from Infinity2. This is a mixture of patented gut bacteria, some of which are partially antibiotic resistant and specifically designed to be able to pas through the stomach and colonize the intestines. You can do an immunoglobulin electrophoresis and determine precisely what levels of what types of immune chemistry is present. An IgG level would be a rough indicator. Cellular immunity is difficult to measure accurately and prohibitively expensive. M. W. I have been liquefying the A/D food, but would you please elaborate on the suggestions regarding RAW FOOD ? I don't keep meat in the house (yadayada) but WILL in the event it can enhance Selena's nourishment.... thanks .mg. -------------------------------------- From: "phaedrus" To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Date sent: Tue, 3 Feb 1998 14:33:22 +0000 Subject: (Fwd) RESCUE: Cat needs home Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi everyone, I'm forwarding this from the Feline-L mailing list. Well, he has decided that he can't keep it with his other two but is just torn apart because his shelter says that they euthanize those cats immediately. So here is the description. Perhaps someone out there who has no cats or other FIV+ cats would be interested. He sure sounds like a sweetie!! The cat is presently located in New Hampshire. Neutered Male Black and grey tabby with white belly age estimated at 3-5 years very affectionate, and non-aggressive has just had rabies and feline luekemia vaccines and full vet. checkup FIV+. Needs home as a single cat, or with other cats which are also FIV+ My friend Dana's number is (603) 742-1288 Thanks Kerry, Whatnot, and Fiddlehead -------------------------------------- From: "phaedrus" To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Date sent: Tue, 3 Feb 1998 14:44:50 +0000 Subject: Fwd: Looking for FIV cats to obtain blood samples for r Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi again, I also wanted to forward this along so that perhaps if we have anyone from San Francisco here, they can help this researcher. Use about 6 parts of this mix to one part of a vegetable (steamed to soften. You can use broccoli, green beans, peas, etc., as the vegetable source. I like to add to this mix Infinity2's Lipochromizyme, Antioxidants, and Insure plus vitamins. You can get a similar effect with the a/d by adding Infinity2's Digest A Meal product to replace the enzymes lost in processing. M. W. Give them my ID# 9346977 and they will walk you through the order. It is actually a human product so I use about 1/4 to 1/2 capsule per meal. It is mixed in immediately before feeding since it will begin digesting the food in a few minutes upon mixing. M. W. Joan told me about an article she had read in Cats 2/98 regarding a woman who had a feline + cat for 3or 4 yrs. whom she treated with Pau D'Arco, Vit B 12 & Amoxycillan. Her cat is now negative. I know that this could have happened with out this regime but I thought it might be worth a try & relatively cheap & safe to use on my 3 kittens not yet ill. Sorry Dr. Meyers, you must have missed my last query of this regime last week. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net EPOGEN!! Is it Epogen???? Please tell me it's epogen. Jim, are you reading this, we may have found a vet that uses Epogen. If that is the drug, routinely used in humans to boost Red Blood Cell production, (it also has a countpart, Neupogen, for WBC). It is expensive, but I would think, a cat being so small, you could get multiple doses from one human dose. Now this is very exciting. Please, Please get the entire protocal from your vet and post it asap.
