Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I called and Russian is doing better tonight. Her temp. is down a little. I am going to make sure all the bases are covered for her. This vet does not believe in the flip side of the treatments with the experimental drugs and herbs. So after we will find someone who does. I do have other cats. 2 males. They are vaccinated every year for leukemia. They would need retested anyway. It is a good idea to keep in mind tho. I read where Dr. Myers has given positive cats the vaccine to trick the system into putting out antibodies. Another great idea. I will continue to do what I can for Russian she is very close to us and deserves the best. Sometimes you have to tell these doctors what you want, not what they think you need to hear. Goodnight everyone and thanks for this good day you gave me. The high fever was due to a bad tooth the old doctor never picked up on. Even tho her teeth were cleaned last Fall. The clinic assigned us a good vet. She treats with Immuno-Regula and uses vitamins and other modern methods. She sounds very knowledgeable. Russian is not out of the woods yet. Her fever still has to go down enough to allow them to remove the tooth and she will have to be sedated. The vet says she is still positive for luekemia but does not fit the profile of a cat with it. She says we have taken very good care of her. To think I almost had her put down out of pure ignorance. Keep the prayers up and thanks for all the support you people have showed me. I have often wondered if you did get another cat after losing Vyvyan, but didn't want to ask. But I am delighted for you and Moxy! Please Read! Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Benny went to a new veterinarian who is wonderful--the difference is night & day from my former vet!!!!!!!!!My baby had to have surgery after the dr. found a tumor . The next night he cried out in pain and collapsed. I haven't eaten, slept, etc. due to this and just prayed and prayed that my boy would somehow come through this. He had a blood transfusion from the vet's receptionist's kitty. Sharkey. That should show you how compassionate that place is. They are so much more advanced, too. I was told that after the transfusion, as long as it went ok, he would have surgery to remove the "mass" otherwise he would die.......he also said he may die during surgery. Benny came through the surgery ok...let me tell you, I never cried so much in my life or felt so depressed in my life. Waiting for the outcome was terrible!!!!!! I was away from him a whole day and night waiting and praying. Well, after all the praying and support, I walked in not knowing what to expect when the doors opened and the Dr. said "Benny's doing great this morning"...I cried and went immediately to see him, he saw me and started purring and rubbing his little head on mine. His little leg is shaved and his tummy too, he was all sewn up and it was the best sight I'd ever seen. I know he is not "out of the woods" because the Dr. did say he didn't think he's make it throught the weekend. He had the tumor removed, but also said there's some cancer in his intestines---his intestines are sewn together. He is purring and looks good, I know it's not right to prolong the life of a suffering animal, but he's not suffering and GUESS WHAT? MY former vet did NOT even have him on Interferon! He got that after his surgery at the new clinic. The former clinic is not as advanced at all. They gave him a pain injection over the weekend at 3 am because he had so much pain from the tumor and he was so nasty with me. I think because he knew I'd consulted another vet & he was going back the next day. He was comfortable after the shot & the dear little angel started purring. I got him home, watched him the rest of the early am and then took him the the clinic. I don't have a lot of time to write, but he's at home at the moment, my husband will be home early today and I will run home at lunch to see how he is. The rest of the week I am putting him in the clinic kennel during the days so they can keep an eye on him...he'll be with me the rest of the time. Please say more prayers!!!!!!!! He is on Interferon & liquid vitamins. Michele & Benny I love you all..... Michele R. Smeal mrb2@psu.edu 107 Ritenour Bldg. Timmy is a carrier but remains very healthy but after Benny's transfusion this past Friday and surgery, he looked so good and I have already planned on telling the vet about using Boots blood for Benny actually tomorrow when Benny goes into the clinic to stay during the day while I'm at work (my idea) . Boots is so strong & healthy and would help Benny out. Thanks and I won't give up. I just went home to check on Benny & he was still tired, but drank some water which makes me feel good. I live 1/2 hr. away so I only had a few minutes with my baby boy. I love him & Barb this is SO HARD. It's been the worst couple weeks of my life!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the support. However, I have a great vet. And even though she was not comfortable doing it, she was going to find me one in the area that was. She had spoken with Dr. Yates at the phone number shown for Acemannan. That's where she got her information. Also, they couldn't insert the medicine into his tumors because of the location of the tumors. Neither does my vet. But she gave me the following vets at The Wilmington Animal Hospital in Wilmington Delware. 1-302-762-2694. Their names are Dr. Jeanne Wordley spec. in acupunture and Chinese medicine and also Dr. Shelley Epstein spec. in homeopathic medicine. I haven't called them as of yet. If you can't find a vet in your area, it won't harm to give them a call. I am very into the natural herbs, vitamins/supplements and antioxidants. I will keep you post as to how I make out with these vets. Good Luck...Kelly -------------------------------------- Date sent: Mon, 02 Feb 1998 13:56:14 -0500 From: albobo To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Subject: Re: herbs(was Immunoregulin treatment) Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net > Cheryl, Thanks for writing back regarding the herbs. Unfortunately, it's up to us (sometimes) as to when to know when to let go. This is the hardest decision in the whole world. On the upside, when i gave Chloe the preds, within days, he was great!!! Totally back to normal. He ate and ate and ate. and play and played and played. It was great to see him back to normal. I'll keep a prayer for you. jenn -- Jennifer Crocus mailto:jcrocus@chubb.com The Chubb Corporation http://www.chubb.com/ -------------------------------------- END OF PART 1: See part 2 at: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/9802022.txt
