One, Kitty, was older. I've had her about 1 1/2 years and I found a tiny four week old kitten in an abandoned house. He had an abcess on his side from a cat bite. I took him to the vet who cleaned it up and gave him all his shots. A year later my little boy stopped eating and I found he had FeLV. He was so sick I had to put him to sleep. Then I discovered my other two cats, (I'd adopted another one from the humane society), were FeLV positive. It's a sad story but also a happy one. I know Mickey, my little boy, wouldn't have lived if I had left him in that abandoned house. There was a foot of snow two days after I found him. I know he had the best possible life even though it was short. I will always miss him. I'm thankful I took lots of photos. Now I live each day making sure Kitty and Chaz have good lives. They also get the best health possible. Every day they live is a good day for them. I hope they live for a long time. I feel guilty sometimes about bringing the newest kitten home. I still know he has a good life. Something he might not have had at all. Just give each the best life possible. You might want to start them on immunoregulin and interferon. Barb can give you lots of information on that. She helped me a lot. You are doing your best for Benny. Keep up the good work and love. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Hi Lynn & all, I actually got this recipe from a health food book but couldn"t tell you which. Here is what I did for my kitties when I first got them. With each meal: 10 mg CoEnzyme Q10 1/8 tsp. olive oil 1/4 tsp. bonemeal or liquid calcium 10,000 units or 1/2 tsp cod liver oil 2-3 mg zinc ( It also calls for 1 tblt bioplasma But couldn't find it here in Canada & also 1/4 tsp. feline enzymes) & daily doses of 250 unit Vit. C or 1/16 tsp ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate 1 X weekly 400 units Vit. E PLEASE NOTE: the above was per cat As for the pau D'arco capsules this was from Joan. She had read it in a magazine stating 1 Capsule daily along with 5 drops Vit.B 12 & 1 dropperful amoxycillan. Let go of the BLAME. This is an E.O.E. dis-ease and you are wasting no time in seeking Veterinary care, and the comfort and support of the people here who are also engaged in the battle against FeLV. Hysterics make poor listeners-- ask questions, take notes, write things down, and remember to BREATHE ! Fear is a mind-killer. Good luck. Talk to you soon. marilyn -------------------------------------- Date sent: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 22:57:23 -0500 From: "M. Woodrow Myers, D.V.M." Organization: Vet Care, Etc., P. C. Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net I am not familiar with Pau D'Arco, but it should be very difficult to overdose CoQ10. 50mg should be no problem as a daily dose. M. W. This will show up any anatomical abnormalities associated with the kidneys, ureters, bladder, or urethra. It is referred to as an "IVP" in human medicine. M. W.
