Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net Thank you for the help with aspirin. I think it helped Copley. He felt extremely warm to me last night. I have drastically cut down my travel since learning of Copley's illness. In fact, all personal trips have been put on a complete hold, but I can't always do that for work. I have to go out of town Wednesday morning through Friday night this week. It always makes me a nervous wreck. There are two loving people to care for him while I'm gone, but I like to be with him as much as possible. It seems he always has a slight problem before I go, which just makes leaving that much harder. I wanted to try and take care of a fever before I left. Thanks for the replies and the vet book information! Domino's blood results came back all within normal range - whew! So, hopefully if Mary can get the gum inflamation under control, he'll be ok. Maybe if you get your Domino started on the interferon and > immunoregulin early, you will have better results. Mary said that her vet doesn't want to start on those as yet until he sees how the oral medication goes. He doesn't believe in using them until the kitties are symptomatic - so she'll just have to play it by ear. I hope your little Stinker is doing ok - you are certainly doing all you can to help him and he knows that you are. The best of luck. I am truly sorry about your friend; I know what it is like to lose a friend. I wish I could say more, but it is difficult to find the right words (if there are any). I am keeping your mother in my thoughts; how is she doing? Sad to hear about adding so many cats . . . I guess we all need to be thankful for any "extra" time we have with them. Have not been able to access Sasha's page--any hints? With the syringe, boom, one "shot" and kitty gets it all. I believe 3cc and 3ml to be roughly equivalent. -- Steve -------------------------------------- From: "phaedrus" To: felvtalk@MailingList.net Date sent: Wed, 21 Jan 1998 14:37:40 +0000 Subject: Re: elixir Send reply to: felvtalk@MailingList.net 1cc = 1 mL exactly. 4 oz. is I *believe* one cup, so that shouldn't be too hard to measure. And, as Steve said, using a syringe will work much better than an eye dropper for feeding your cat- your vet should be able to give you a couple of them. Also, ask him about the technique for feeding cats this way. It isn't quite as simple as it seems- you don't want to tip the head up to feed her/him because they might choke. The idea is to get it in the side of their mouths while holding their head steady. I hope this helps. Take care, and good luck. In loving memory of Vyvyan: March 20, 1988 - August 15, 1997 James G. I will be seeing the vet again tomorrow, and ask again. I just remember she said there is a vet in town who prescribes it like wildfire, and she has just not seen enough evidence that it is effective, where she does feel confidence in Interferon's effectiveness. Myself, I would choose Interferon because I know it has done some really great things for people with melanoma (skin cancer) and many other serious illnesses. Even though I realize results for people and cats may be two different things, when one knows of effectiveness, the confidence level is there.
