The first site I found is called the European Enlightenment. This is site goes very in depth in all of the categories and has highlighted terms to know. The categories are Pre-Enlightenment Europe, The Case of England, Seventeenth Century Enlightenment Thought, René Descartes, Blaise Pascal, The Scientific Revolution, The Eighteenth Century, The Philosophes, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Women: Communities, Economies and Opportunities, Absolute Monarchy and Enlightened absolutism and The Industrial Revolution of the Eighteenth Century. These are all topic that our history book talks about and what we are learning at this time. This site gives a lot of information and is very helpful although it is somewhat more challenging to understand that other websites. I think this site is more geared toward college students rather than high school students. The site has few pictures and in not very exciting but it provides lots of information. I liked this site for it’s in depth facts about the Enlightenment period and the things that went on during this time. The site goes into great extent about famous enlightened thinkers and their view on the world and how the government should be run. It is a lot of reading and very long but the facts are good and it helps you understand the chapter we are reading about much better than before.

The second site I found is on the revolutionary war. I like this site a lot because you don’t read long boring paragraphs but bullet statements in chronological order from when the events happened. This effect makes seems to make you more interested to read because the statements are short and you don’t get tired of reading. The bullets have important facts on them according to the year that thy happened. There are very many and although they are short they are very informative. The site has four categories with different sections in them. The first category is Explorations and Early Colonial Era. The second is The English Colonial Era. Next is The American War for Independence and last is A New Nation is born. It also provides links that go to pictures, Presidents and other wars of the past. Although this site doesn’t have many pictures it is not too boring to look at and the text is very easy to read. The site goes right along with what we are learning about because in Chapter 18 the book talks about the 13 Colonies, the control England had over them, the Revolution and what happed after America had become independent. Thius site talks about the same things, breaks it down and makes it easier to understand. The site also provides more information than the book and mentions more event than the book does. I liked this site a lot and found it to be very helpful and interesting as well as a good resource.

The third site I found is on salons and how they worked. I found the site very interesting and easy to read. I could understand it very well and I gave me incite as to what a salon was really like. In our book it talks about salons and so this site has to do with what we are learning about at this time. This site explained more about what was talked about, who attended salons and how they grew over the centuries.  I learned a lot about what is was like to be part of one and how amazing they were. This site has no pictures so it is not very interesting to look at but the reading is very informative and not too much. Salons were very big in the Eighteenth century and had to do a lot with the Enlightenment. They impacted the world for women. Overall this was a very good site with lots of information that the book doesn’t mention.
