CHAPTER 19 QUESTIONS
- There
was discontent with the old regime of France
because the people of France
were unhappy with the three estates.
- A
crowed stormed the Bastille because they wanted weapons and gunpowder and
they believed it was stored there.
- The
slogan of the French Revolution was Liberty,
Equality, and Fraternity.
- Both
Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette was executed and beheaded in 1793.
- The Reign
of Terror was the age when revolutionary courts conducted hasty trials
from July 1793 to July 1794.
- Napoleon
made many reforms such as consolidating power, strengthening the central
government, order, security, and efficiently replaced liberty, equality,
and fraternity.
- Napoleon
tried to increase the French power by putting friends and family members
in charge of ruling the different countries in Europe
that he conquered.
- The
result of Napoleon’s innovation of Russia was he was defeated against
them because his arm ran out of food and they didn’t have enough strength to
fight.
- The Congress
of Vienna tried to restore Europe’s balance of power by having different
peacemakers redraw the map of Europe.
