- Joseph McCarthy- He
Charged Americans for having sympathies for the communists. When McCarthy
was charged, he had already ruined thousands of American Lives and
Careers.
- Great Society- This is a program created Lyndon
Johnson. In this program It Funded Medicare for the elderly, job training
for the poor, and support for education.
- Ronald Reagan- He was the president of the United States
at the time. He made cutbacks in government spending.
- Brown V. Board of Education of Topeka-
In 1954 the Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling in this. This
declares that segregated schools were unconstitutional.
- Martian Luther King, JR.-
He emerged in 1956 and become a leader of Civil Rights. Ghandi inspired him. He organized boycotts and led
peaceful marches.
- St. Lawrence Seaway- It was created by Canada and the Unites States.
It opened the great lakes to the ocean-going ships and linked the interior
of both countries to the Atlantic.
