Terrorism takes the lives of many innocent people every year. Every country in the world has to deal with it in this day and age and that is why it is such a world problem.
There a millions of cases of terrorism in the world and thousands of reasons why people do terrorist actions or become terrorist. Terrorism has been gong on for thousands of years although if has very gotten as bad as it is now. Today we have chemical weapons that can kill millions of people at one push of a button. Weapons have become so technologically advanced that we can be across the world and bomb a country. Nuclear weaponry is everywhere and everyone is threatening to use it.The Nuclear Club is a club that countries with nuclear weapons join to show that they are a powerful country and they have high rank in the world.
The definition of terrorism is, “The
unlawful use or threatened use of
force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property
with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often
for ideological or political reasons.” Forms of this act can be war,
bombings, shoot out, drug dealing and genocide. Some examples would be WW2,
9/11 the crisis in Israel, Iraq War, the bombing in Madrid, genocide by Saddam
Hussein and genocide by Stalin. 90% of killings are of innocent citizens. In
World War 2 six million Jews died and about sixty million had died by the end
of the war. During September 11th 2,800 people lost there lives in
the twin towers, 189 at the Pentagon and 44 in
This is a serious world problem that needs to be faced and soon before more causalities happen. I think actions need to be put in place to have a low number of weapons and try to make it harder to go to war then that a country has some of another countries land so they go to war. I think that the UN should make them sort it out in a peaceful way. Some of this is already in action but it must have more emphasize on it. There is no certain way to get rid of terrorism because there are so many forms of it and it’s hard to stop the terrorist who commit these act. I think everybody has to become more aware of terrorism and do everything in their power to stop it because if we don’t be careful we will kill humans off the face of the Earth. Peace is the only way to stop terrorism and it might take hundreds of years and thousands of deaths and millions of wars for people to realize it but it’s the only way.
