Napoleon
Napoleon was a great and powerful
leader. He changed the French nation forever. Napoleon was born in Corsica on August 15, 1769. When Napoleon was a child he decided on a
military career, winning a scholarship to a French military academy. At the age
of 26 Napoleon became a general after he drove British troops from Paris. At first Napoleon
was a joke at first and was not believed in but as soon as war started Napoleon
took charge and conquer Austria
and other parts of Europe. He becomes a hero and
French people adore him. He later moved to Italy but still controlled the
French Army. He would send wonderful thing, such as paintings and sculptures
from Italy to France. He made
a treaty with the Austrians and from this resolution he became a statesman. At
this time France was only at
war with Britain.
Napoleon traveled to Egypt and went
to war with the Manoluks. The French won and the battle was over in an
hour. Napoleon conquered all of Europe. He was
the most powerful man of his time and then pronounced himself Emperor of
France. He ruled as Emperor for a few years and then when he had been conquered
he resigned in 1814.
