- At the
Munich
conference of 1938, British and the French leaders again chose
appeasement. They caved into Hitler’s demands and then made the Czechs
surrender to the surrender land without a fight. Then Hitler assured Britasin and France that he had further plans for
expansion.
- World
War II started when Hitler invaded Poland on September 3, 1939.
- The
United States Became part of the war after the event of Pearl Habor in the December of 1941.
- Nazi Germany attempt to murder all
European Jews was through genocide. To wipe out the Jews the Nazis used
concentration camps and death camps.
- The
Battle of Stalingrad was important because Russia
and Germany turned on
each other and Russia
stopped Hitler’s from invading Stalingrad and Germany suffered many losses.
- The
“island hopping” campaign was to recapture some Japanese-held islands
while bypassing others. The captured islands are where Americans built air
bases to get closer to Japan.
- The United
Nations was established in April 1945 in order to secure peace.
- The
Truman doctorate made clear the Americans would resist Soviet expansion in
Europe or elsewhere places.
