The sunlight coloured recoil magic sparked around the fire as it crackled in the moon light that floated into a dark room. A maroon chair sat in front of a fireplace, and in it sat it's owner.
"The Elders are getting worried. They trapped the orb inside a student; How predictable." said the man who sat in the chair. In the dim light, one could only make out his short black hair barley clocking his maroon eye's. His grey travelling coat covering him from neck to feet. He had a low and muscular voice.
Clomp! Clomp! A tall, plain looking man, his short blond hair that revealed a soft, kind face and green eyes, came waltzing in, then suddenly stopped, his white coat billowed slightly.
"Sir, our spy's have located the orb inside a student of Sorcerer. Do you want us to get it now?" He asked bravely.
The other man closed his eye's and replied, "No Joseph. We don't know which one it is yet. We can't use the incantation
until we're completely shore. Let us wait until the student show's any sign of the power of the orb; Then, and only then, shall we strike."
Joseph bowled then slowly wondered off. The other man grinned.
Tick, tick, tick; Beep, beep beep! Clair woke up suddenly and sat up so fast that she hit her head on a shelf above her. "Ouch! Blasted alarm clock. Wake me up with your load ringing! I'm having nightmares about it." she muttered to herself.
The door creaked open a fraction and the sound of her mum fluttered in, "Come down Clair, it's time you got up."
"Right, I'll be down in a sec." She replied.
Clair, no older then 13, had shoulder length blond hair that would sometimes cover her sea green eyes. Surprisingly enough, even though she lived in the outskirts of the Northern Territory- which gets incredibly hot -she had pale pink skin. She moved a bit, her pretty pink fairy pyjamas rustling.
She crept down into the kitchen and entered. Her mum put some toast on a plate and placed it down in front of Clair as she sat down at the table. She was a tall and thin women with grey-blond hair and hazel green eyes. She, too, had pale skin, but only because she remained in doors a lot. She wore a grey jumper with navy blue pants.
"Oh, I'm so happy, your finally going to Sorcerer! Isn't this exciting, Clair..." Clair stopped chewing. She started to turn red. Then, without warning, started to chock. She got a cup of water and gulped it down fast.
She slammed down the cup, and looked up at her mum and spurted, "But I can't go to Sorcerer, I'm only half witch; Everyone will tease me."
"Your going whether you like it or not!" Her mum finished making Clair finish her toast. Clair rolled her eyes and moaned.
"This is not going good." She thought to herself as they got ready to go out to Central M City.
They headed off in the car. Clair had changed into a light blue shirt and grey shorts. Her mother, too, had changed into a white top and long, light blue pants. It was a long ride, thought Clair and started tapping the window gently. Her mum didn't mind, she was too busy watching the road and listening to the FM radio.
They stopped at a clearing with lots of puddles of water. They headed towards a dry spot, right through the centre of the wet spot's. They walked, what felt like, a mile; until they reached what looked like a city. They walked towards it, and with every step they took, the city got much clearer until they reached the entrance.
They reached Central M City. Appearing on the boarder of South Australia and the Northern Territory, this city is for all magic users needs and supplies. Protected by a centred spell, it protects itself from unwanted eyes by looking more distant then it actually is, like a mirage in a desert. This spell also protects it from the heat of the Northern Territory. Magical users could find it by the yellow, gold and orange recoil magic that swept passed it.
"Finally," Groaned Clair as she staggered after her mum into the city.
There were lot's of shops there. People everywhere wore various things such as cloaks, T-Shirts, robes, jumper's and even swimming wear: All in different colours. She noticed different kinds of species there, as well as human's. Clair was shore she saw a troll go into the pub near the entrance, and a fairy go into a clothe shop up ahead.
She always liked coming here because it was always such fun. She giggled as a pixy and a gremlin strode past. Her mum was too busy looking around for one particular shop. They were going to see a friend in one of the shops.
As they walked further into the city, Clair saw someone she knew. A girl with long brown hair pulled back to reveal her hazel brown eyes. Her dark blue robe with silver fastening billowing behind her, as she strolled past, looking around as she walked on.
The girl suddenly stopped beside Clair and said, "Well, well, well. So your finally starting witches school are we. I don't know what you see in that useless mortal school you went to." Then she started to laugh gently.
"Oh loopy do. Like I care what you think; Specially coming from someone so posh as to go to St. Oe's Heaven!" Clair spouted out. The other girl stopped giggling and scowled. "Come on Sophie, cheer up a bit; It's not like you go to Peterson's Level or anything. Although, I am surprised that you didn't go to Richard's Palace, considering how you seem to throw around so much money, or so you say."
Sophie squinted and was about to say something when Clair's mum yelled out to her, "Clair, come on all ready, I need to see Hash before she goes; Now come on!"
Sophie looked around at Clair's mum and said, "Mum will be at the back, Mrs. Winday." And they both chased after Mrs. Winday into the back room of the store.
It was almost empty, accept for a couple of boxes and a women with long, light brown hair and a dirty black robe -looking a lot like an older Sophie- standing in the middle of the room, sorting through one of the boxes.
She looked up as they entered the room. When she saw who they were, she blurted, "Taress, nice to see you again, dear," with a smile on her face.
"How's business, Kay," Clair's mum asked.
"Oh, it's been fine you could say. I'll be staying at my sister's place until mum gets better. I'll probably be back by the end of first term so I'll be back to pick Sophie up for Easter." Sophie's mum explained as she finished sorting through a box and closed it.
"Hay mum, guess what," started Sophie as her mum looked up, "Clair's going to Sorcerer. Didn't you say she was smarter than that and should go to St. Oe's with me?" She finished with a smirk. Yeah, and be tortured by you every second of the day, thought Clair.
Her mum looked up at her and said, "I suppose considering her father went to Sorcerer, it's really no surprise that she chose to go there...'
"I didn't chose to go anywhere, hmm!" Clair yelled furiously as her mum looked at her with an evil expression. She looked away, too nerves to say anything again.
"Don't mine her. She just thinks everyone will tease her because she's only half magic." Explained her mum coolly. Sophie's mum, Kay, looked up with a smile and said happily, "It's OK, we've got a bit of mortal in us as well, Sophie was nerves of going because of that too, but she's fine, so don't worry about it Clair."
Sophie snorted and looked away. Clair felt slightly better knowing that it won't be the end of the world if she went to Sorcerer.

The trip back home seemed shorter then the trip to the city. Probably because she was talking to her mum the rest of the way.
"So, so, how did you meet dad? And, and, when did he tell you that he was a wizard? And, and..."
"Well, I met your dad when we were at work in Sydney, and I think he told me that he was a wizard before we got married to make sure that it was OK with me, yeah. What's with all the questions?"
"Ah, I was just wondering. I was curious because your a mortal and he was a wizard and stuff." Finished Clair as her mum pulled into the drive-way.
It had been a long day so Clair was relieved to get inside and go to bed. It was only 5 o'clock in the afternoon, as she ran up stairs to look at some pamphlet's that she got during the day.
They read: Peterson's Level: Join the darkhorse.
St. Oe's Heaven: For the intellectual and the best.
Warthesis: The hight of Magic.
Richard's Palace: Enter the wealth of Magic.
Fesa Glades: Yield to our creatures .
Tropa Scent: Enchanted to teach and train.
Central Coast: The high point for Australian magic uses.
Then she looked down at the Sorcerer one and saw how different and colourful it was compared to the other one's. It said:
Sorcerer School of World Wide Australian Witches and Wizards welcome's any and every person with a Magical talent to come to this school, whether old or young, come on down and we will accept you, even if your part or completely mortal.
"Well, I'm convinced I'm guess," thought Clair as she put the broacher down and switched off the light. She drifted to sleep, trying to forget all about tomorrow.
