| Before you begin: It is my belief that knowledge is powerful. People are able to make the healthiest decisions for themselves when they are equipped with knowledge --and the truth. That said, these pages are designed to provide information in a factual (and sometimes amusing) way to people who are either sexually active, considering being sexually active, or interested in the subjects addressed here. I advocate sharing AGE APPROPRIATE information. That is, what one tells a 3-year old about sex/sexuality is not what one would tell a 36-year old. The nature of the Internet does not allow me to control the ages of viewers. Please use this information accordingly -- if you are not yet sexually active please consider ALL of your options before becoming sexually active. Do your best to find someone with whom to discuss your thoughts and plans -- a "face-to-face" person is your best bet. If you are a parent or caretaker, perhaps you will find information to share and ways to share it with the young people in your life. There is nothing wrong or bad about sharing information and sharing your values and beliefs -- give the young (and not-so-young) people in your life as much information about how and why to protect themselves as you can! And finally, regardless of your age, gender, sexuality, preferences, and whether or not you are currently sexually active: Information about prevention of disease and unplanned pregnancy and the very awareness of these subjects will enhance your understanding of them, help you to care for yourself and others and, I hope, soften or erase fear, anger and hatred towards people different from you. Spread knowledge and understanding, not hate and anger! |
