I came into Kristine's life about nine years ago when she was looking for a companion cat for Maurie. Kristine tells everyone that I was meant to be her cat and I believe that is true!

Kristine started looking for me soon after she adopted Maurie. The first thing she did was to call ALLCATS to see if they had any kittens. While she was waiting for a reply, Kristine decided to read the ads for cats and kittens in the paper. She didn't really see anything that called to her, so on an off chance, she read the lost and found column. In there was an ad for a kitten that had been found with a note that said that the person couldn't keep the kitten. Kristine made a note of the phone number so that she could call the person after work.

Later that day, Diane with ALLCATS called back. A veterinarian in the area had a woman bring in a kitten with a broken elbow. The woman couldn't keep the kitten and was looking for a home. Was Kristine interested? Of course! So Diane would pass Kristine's name and number to the current keeper of the cat.

When Kristine got home from work that night, there was a message on her answering machine about the kitten. The person left her name and number. Amazingly, the number of the ad for the lost kitten and the number of the woman referred from ALLCATS were the same. See! It was meant to be.

I am a very affectionate cat. I sleep with Kristine almost every night. While I weigh in at about 22 lbs, I still fit on her pillow and keep her warm during the California winters. (And hence my membership in the Fat is Fun club! Click on the graphic below to visit the club.)

My most recent news is that I suffered bone cancer in my right front leg. I started limping during Christmas of 1999. Kristine and Dr. Williams thought for sure that I was just suffering from arthritis, but both thought it would be a good idea for me to have an X-ray. Much to everyone's dismay, I had to have my leg amputated. And what a story that was! Please e-mail and I will tell you all about it!
