Music: Thematic CD

Directions: Choose one of the topics below to create a CD that has at least five (5) songs that:
Project A ...go with a theme that you select
Project B ...tell the five parts of a story that has been published
Project C ...tell the five parts of a story that you have written
Contents for all Projects:
1. CD Cover
front: title and illustration
back: listing of songs and length of songs
2. CD Insert Write-Ups (for each song)
a. Title of song
b. Performer
c. Lyrics
d. Paragraph about how the song relates to the theme -or- which part of the story this song goes with.
Scoring:
Written: For all projects, you will be scored on content (90%) above (CD Cover and CD Insert Write-Ups), and presentation (10%) (neatness, ink, etc.)
Oral: For all projects, play one of the songs (or read the lyrics) to your audience. You will also be graded on volume, flow/organization, and content as follows:
Project A: explain the theme... what is it? why did you choose it? explain how three of the songs on your CD go with your theme.
Project B: bring a copy of the story that you used. Give a brief summary of the story. Explain how three of the songs on your CD go with the story.
Project C: bring a copy of the story that you wrote. Give a brief summary of the story. Explain how three of the songs on your CD go with the story.
Bonus Points: For all projects, create an actual CD (or cassette).
Project A: Word art for your theme
Project B: Story report (just like a book report)
Project C: The story that you have written. More bonus points if you explain the inspiration for your story (where did the idea for this story come from); even more bonus points if you create additional props for your story.
