El Ultimo Adios/ The Last Goodbye"

Regular visitors to this site will know I have been trying to get information on this project for weeks. My copy of the CD finally arrived yesterday.

The disc contains four tracks which meld together into an overall piece some fifteen minutes long....a symphony in four movements. A lament for the dead featuring the sombre sound of Arturo Sandoval's solo trumpet.

A song in Spanish which is not latin music by stars whose egos were left at home so their voices blend and the message not the singer is the important sound....so much so I hardly picked out José's voice the first time I played it.

None of these musicians has their ethnic origins in mainland USA but all are mourning the effects of the terrorist attack on their adopted home land and on the World

Don't buy this record to hear Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez or José Feliciano buy it to reflect on how our lives changed in that autumn morning in New York........but PLEASE do buy it even if it is the only CD you buy this Christmas - you won't be disappointed by the music and it might help each of us a little in our own healing processes.
