On Wednesday, November 17, 1999, José Feliciano was honored at the First Annual Globo Awards Gala in New York City. He received a special tribute and was given the Artist of the Millennium award for his contributions and achievements in the world of music. The Latin music and broadcasting industries have become a powerful force in changing the course of American culture and they proudly came together in recognition of José Feliciano for his achievements within the Latin entertainment industry.
