Afterglow I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done. |

Our grandfather passed away October 31, 2003. He was born March 3rd in 1914, the 2 of 8 children, in the Chinese province of Hubei. He was raised in a very respectable family with strong traditional Chinese values. His father was a scholar, and his mother was a housewife. Nai-Kuen was a graduate of Hubei City College and worked as a bank manager for the Fu Shing company, later known as Central Trust of China (CTC). He relocated with his family several times during World War II and settled in Taiwan in 1949. After retiring from CTC in 1979, after 45 years as a loyal employee, he emigrated to California in the United States where he spent his remaining years enjoying the privileges of being a grandfather in retirement. His favorite activities included visiting family and friends, travelling, and attending the local adult school with his wife. Nai-Kuen Kung married Hsiu Chuan Wu in 1936, and they had 5 wonderful children together: Lily, Susan, Jason, Peter, and Min. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 67 years, 5 children, 2 son-in-laws, 2 daughter-in-laws, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, born in June of this year. He will be dearly missed by all. |
