The Quran
even in its present form has Surahs
that present
Allah as merciful and not condemning non-believers to eternal fires.
Most verses
in the Quran dealing with the after life,
like the false
Christian scriptures in the New Testament,
see souls as
condemned to eternal fire if they are not saved.
The Quran
over and over again presents the scriptures of the Past,
that is the
Torah and the Gospels or New Testament, as full of errors.
Contemplating
the creatures of creation as sacred.
Virtually all religions have some notion of punishment and reward occurring after death. Although many of the scriptures of the Quran indicate that souls will suffer eternally, there are also scriptures which show that Allah is in fact all compassionate, all loving, and that souls may be refined through the fire of punishment and enter the heavenly state.
Every soul will taste of death. And ye will be paid on the Day of Resurrection only that which ye have fairly earned. Whoso is removed from the Fire and is made to enter Paradise, he indeed is triumphant. The life of this world is but comfort of illusion. Surah 3: 185Here the Quran itself is aligned with the testaments of those who have had near death experiences and who have testified to the all compassionate ambiance of the after life.
And once again, the Quran reiterates the fact that the scriptures of the past, the scriptures of the people of the Book, have been revised and changed for profit.
And (remember) when Allah laid a charge on those who had received the Scripture (He said): Ye ar to expound it to mankind and not to hide it. But they flung it behind their backs and bought thereby a little gain. Verily evil is that which they have gained thereby. 3: 187No reader of the Quran will dispute the fact that there are numerous surahs describing those of the past as corrupting the scriptures for profit. What are the institutions that profit from the corruption of scriptures? The meat and animal foods industries profit from animal sacrifices, and state governments rule because of the sanctioning of slavery, or elite economic systems of rich and poor.
The Quran
praises those who consider the sacredness of Creation.
Contemplating
the creatures of creation as sacred
is a Shauvite,
or Hindu and Buddhist attribute,
not an attribute
of orthodox Sunni belief,
which sees creation
as subordinate to humans.
Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! 3: 191Once again we have evidence of the original Quran, channeled by the vegetarian Muhammad, who periodically retreated into the wilderness and fasted, and himself contemplated the sacredness of creation.
Certainly to those individual creatures who are slaughtered, from their point of view, it must seem that their lives are in vain, seeing that they were created to be slaughtered by humans. Here, however, we have a remnant of the original Quran which is in keeping with the beautiful and unmistakably loving message in Surah 6: 38
"There is not an animal in the earth, nor a flying creature flying on two
wings, but they are peoples like unto you. We have neglected nothing
in the Book (of Our decrees). Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.
Quran, Surah VI: 38
