Catalina 27 "The Main Event" for sale Sept. 2006.
1974 Catalina 27, converted to outboard motor. 8' beam, headroom 6'1".  Dual battery-bank, automatic bilge pump, tiller steering, standard rig, roller furling jib, standard single lifelines with backsavers, stowable swim ladder, anchor. Mainsail and jib included. Sailcover and bimini. Galley sink with electric-pumped fresh water, galley storage cubby, standard icebox, marine head with holding tank. Dinette-style salon with table that lowers to become a double bed. Closet for clothing, privacy door for head, salon storage cubby. New interior cushion upholstery, all interior teak is refinished. Sleeps 5 to 6.

This boat has been loved very hard by its previous owner, and through much hard work we have restored it to functional use. It is very basic in its operations and would make a good beginner boat for someone desiring to buy a pocket cruiser at minimal expense. We are selling it at a low price due in part to its lack of extras (buyer will need to provide cockpit instrumentation) and also due to its cosmetic appearance: Although the interior teak has been sanded and oiled and looks lovely, there is a discoloration in the interior gelcoat, a result of rainwater flooding while cradled on the hard, and the galley surface is a bit warped. Also, last winter the newly-reupholstered cushions became stained in the dinette area.  But I have lived on this boat and found it quite comfy and pleasant. Please note that this boat DOES feature a roller furling jib.

The boat is located in Essex, MD, outside of Baltimore. You are welcome to come view the boat. Our asking price is $4,200, but please feel free to make us an offer. Please call 703-867-9576 or 703-938-3475 for directions to the marina. Thank you.
