China '95/'96

My first trip abroad without my parents...WAS SUPERB!

This was a study tour that comprised some 20 odd student leaders from Nanyang Technological University...mostly male...which meant that the girls were more or less baby-sitted throughout. *Sigh* In any case, we were officially sent there as part of a student delegation to various universities, such as Beijing University, Nanjing University and Hongkong National University. Unofficially, we were on a self-canvassed holiday...

Our first of many stops was Beijing...followed by Xi'an, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong.(not in this order & I can 't recall some of the smaller stops)

We travelled up the plane, down the train, and up the bus again...stopping at each destination for barely a night before packing our bags once more.

What do greenhorn travellers do when they arrive in another country? TAKE PICTURES n SHOP TILL U DROP!

All in all, I netted 7 rolls of film, bought countless souvenirs, including a set of 4 ceramic horses in Xi'an (our 2nd of over 10 stops) which I hand-carried all the way back to Singapore.
