2 c All-Purpose Flour
3 � t baking powder
1 t salt
1 � c sugar
� c shortening
3 eggs
1 c milk
1 t extract flavor (lemon or Vanilla)
Grease and flour pans.
Mix together flour, powder and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl: Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beat throughly after each addition. Add flour, mix alterately with milk, beating just to combine. Finally stir in flavor.
Pour batter into pans. Bake at 350� for 30-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Start checking for doneness after the lowest time.
